About
Gunforged is a goofy fantasy roguelite shooter where you create broken builds every run. Forge your guns with randomized gun parts, collect passive abilities, and embed gun-changing runes into your guns to create the ultimate build. Enter the arena, lay waste to hordes of enemies, eradicate bosses, and extract with gold.
Forge your guns from randomized gun parts. Get the right damage, fire rate, and range for your build. Add runes to your guns to completely change their behavior. Make enemies explode into gold on hit. Add ricochet to bullets. Spawn pillars on enemy death.

Choose from dozens of passive abilities after each wave. Call down lightning storms, spawn "Blood Brothers", use your stamina as health, and more! Create the perfect build by choosing the right passives for your guns, or by forging the right guns for your passives!
Become overpowered. Shoot bananas. Forge a cow-gun. Get private security. Become a glass cannon. Become the opposite of a glass cannon (obsidian paperweight?)
Slay waves of challenging enemies. Encounter and destroy 6 unique bosses. Fight through each of the 3 arenas to encounter more difficult and unique enemies.

Use the gold extracted from each run to purchase permanent upgrades. Gain the Loot Goblin as a companion. Increase your max health. Unlock the rocket gun. Increase your Prize Wheel spins. Enhance weapon customizability. And more!

This is a fun little action shooter that's probably worth its sticker price. The dual clip mechanic is actually pretty awesome and novel. However, as a rogue-lite game, the builds just fall flat. As someone who has put hours and hours if not thousands of hours playing rogue-likes and rogue-lites, this game does not cut it for me. Here is a list of my critiques about the builds: - The gun parts have arbitrary stats. Certain gun parts don't have themes. Like the cow gun parts don't have a small ammo capacity even though their innate passive synergizes with small clips. The randomness makes it hard for me to get excited and plan ahead for future pieces -The random stats are also tied to random innate runes. It's very clunky to build for the right gun stats while working around the fixed rune slot. -There is no display of each piece's individual stats. You can only compare the changes it would have on your guns. -The guns only have 3 parts. This is incredibly limiting. I expected at least 5 and was hoping for 7. Barrel, stock, clip, sight, chasis, ammo, handle... -There very little synergy build up. In my favorite rogue-lites your build is a product of several small pieces that accumulate into something larger than the sum of their parts. From what I've experienced so far, this game severely lacks in that department. When looking to replace my gun parts, I'm just looking to keep the same innate runes and better numbers on the randomized stats.
This one is one of the just average ones. You know, not so bad you want to downvote it but not so good you want to push for the 100%? Yeah, that kind. The gunplay is good. The stages are squares of different colors. The meta upgrades are basic. The usual of what you can find in a roguelike-bullet hell-top down shooter. Nothing wrong here but nothing inspiring either. Could've use more upgrades for actual power. The gun customization is where it could've been really good but it's just not enough. The idea is there, it works but it's just... meh. You have to experience with each part. When you mouseover the parts you will see what it does on your weapon but there doesn't seem to be proper stats and even the same part with the same level doesn't give the same stats (numbers change, not the effect). There are also runes which are not explained at all (or I just didn't see the explanation). It took me a couple of runs to understand where I was suppose to use them. It's confusing to say the least. I do admit though that the double magazine mechanic is quite good. It forces you to have 2 useful weapons with a variety of effects that you can combine with passives for more special effects and/or utilities. I found myself wanting to push but after reaching the 3rd stage I was just bored. Every run kinda feels the same. The stage doesn't help at all, being pretty much the same every run. At some point you can pick you gun parts to start the run with but even then you find yourself aiming for mostly the same parts as they either add more bullets, damage, attack speed or special effect you prefer. It's still worth it for a low price. Good job on the dev for this but it doesn't last very long before you want to move on to something else.
Great game, great developer. He does great tutorials as well. Keep it up.
Fun idea, but not a good game. Boss isn't hard, he's just a sponge. I fell asleep fighting him. I had good weapons and still sat there hitting him for 5 minutes before nodding off when he was around 20%. Weapon upgrades are just random, pick the highest damage.
Insanely addicting. Great game and worth the money! I wish there was some way to lock in my gun build so I could start with some runes or something. There is a start gun selection system, but it's pretty bare bones.
Writing this because this game definitely deserves more reviews. Would highly recommend Gunforged to anyone who likes the genre, it's a really fun and polished roguelike! The weapon crafting system mixed with the passive system allows for some fun and rewarding builds, progression feels right, game difficulty is fair and I can't complain about the amount of content you get for the price. My only complaint (as of the 2nd of March) is that while the game has depth, the UI lacks some indicators to clarify that depth to the player. I'll give two examples: 1) The weapon crafting UI has no indicator to show which part it replaces when you equip it. 2) There is no menu to show which passives you have. You do remember, but when you get a random one from the well, the game only gives you the name without the effect. Ideally, the weapon craft menu shows your passives and indicates which weapon parts are affected by a certain passive. These are minor things that absolutely should not stop you from buying it, however :)
Fun game with interesting ways to upgrade and create unique weapon combos. No 2 runs are going to be alike, and early builds will likely end up being completely different by late game based on what's being rolled. Many viable builds this way. It's a solo project from a developer that vlogs his progress and learnings on Youtube, and creates excellent game dev courses on Udemy (the combination of these 2 is how I found this game). It's a fun game and supports an excellent developer that is good for the solo dev community. What's not to like?
What a fantastic little game, it's so fun and frantic and well worth the price! Wishing you luck in your future endeavors!
3/10. Reembolsado :b
Hard pass on this one. A huge amount of blindspots that make the experience tedious and not enjoyable. Seems like the dev didn't have time to look up at other succesful titles of the genre to see what they did good. This feels like it was made in 2020. Also, why the duck the in-run currency is the same as the one for getting meta? Either you try and have a good run or you do 20 bad runs just to farm obscure meta in order to not suck at all from the beginning. This is just not fun tbh, wouldn't recommend even on sale sadly.
