Looks grotesque and it plays even more hideously than that. Quite evil indeed.

A bundle of 3 Grotesque Tactics series games is priced at $1.59 US. The reluctant protagonist is a knight of questionable talents and problematic “emo” fits, who is drawn into a quest to save [b]The Kingdom of Glory[/b] from the mercilessly minions of an evil cult; [b]the Dark Church[/b]. He ends up teamed with a strange group of fellow questers that includes a supremely arrogant Demi-God, a blood-thirsty Vampire, an ill-tempered horny Angel and assorted other beings. AND there are [b]Killer Rabbits[/b], deadly attack Mushrooms, and scores of other villainous creatures to overcome ... Treasures to find … Dungeons to clear … Scantily clad Virgins to rescue from ferocious Monsters … Outfits to upgrade and equip … Vicious and angry Bosses to defeat … Heroes to level up … [b]An Angel to satisfy[/b]. Combat is by turn-based tactical battles with comical animations; dropped weapons, etc. Throughout this RPG/quest, there always is humor and satire. Gamer MUST pay attention to the dialogue or it is easy to miss it. [b][u]An interesting note[/u][/b] from the store page ... ** In chess, [b]a “Grotesque”[/b] is a problem or endgame study that features a particularly unlikely initial position, especially one in which White fights with a very small force against a much larger black army. Grotesques are generally intended to be humorous.

This game should be named: Grotesque Tactics: Evil camera. Camera is true villain of this game. What else? Don't want to waste yourtime so I will just tell you how launcher works. It tries to connect with some broken url and displays 71 "scrip error" messages in a row before you can click start game button. That part is probably more entertaining than the game itself. Avoid.

If you are a fan of old school Fire Emblem and similar games, this is likely to be a very enjoyable experience. The story isn't particularly complicated, but what there is is none the less satisfying with some interesting twists. There aren't many different locations to visit, but it none the less does a decent job of using what it does have well - and even plays it for humour at one point, highlighting that you have been to a location before. The actual strategic systems are a bit clunky, but ultimately satisfying to master. It never feels like the difficulty comes from fighting the games systems instead of the opponents it throws at you. This said, the difficulty curve can be quite high, and because there is a finite amount of all resources in the game any early setbacks can be crippling by the end of the game. And sometimes you do need to be careful of the camera, as it can cause you to issue an unintended order in a few of the more obstructed environments. Overall this game is obviously intended to appeal to players who like a tough challenge, but if that's not for you the developers have actually left a lot of options so that anyone can enjoy the game - beyond simple difficulty settings, the developer console (think ID Software or Valve cheat codes) is readily accessible and you don't get penalised by the game in any way for using it. There is about 3 hours of content to be experienced here, but expect it to take about 18 hours to get through everything if you are good at these sorts of games, or about 36 hours if you find these sorts of games more challenging.

a silly little game. with next to no plot or story.. limited and pretty poor tactics/skills to use and constant reuse of 'levels'.. I'm guessing because it was made by one person?!? its ok.. but nothing to 'rave on about' like some do.. and #2 is NOT worth buying for any amount of money..

Vraiment moyen et depasse actuellement , en anglais bref rien pour plaire et pourtant .... Le tactical est bien rendu et la petite dose de rpg fait son travail grace aux perso haut en couleur dans votre equipe ! bref une sorte de dongeon de nalhbeleuk avant l heure question humour ! On zaś wciela się w niesfornego młodzieńca, wydalonego z królewskiej akademii wojskowej, któremu przyjdzie zadanie uratowania całego królestwa przed nadciągającą zagładą. Tytuł być może nie jest kierowany do wszystkich graczy, to raczej growy kąsek dla fanów klasyków, którzy chcieliby prostej, nieprzekombinowanej rozgrywki pełnej akcji i humoru. [h1]Ale do rzeczy:[/h1] Jak już nadmieniłem na samym początku tej recenzji mamy tym razem do czynienia z tytułem z gatunku fantasy RPG, który to zabiera gracza do kolorowego i magicznego świata napadniętego przez krwiożercze stworzenia. On zaś wciela się w niesfornego młodzieńca, wydalonego z królewskiej akademii wojskowej, któremu przyjdzie zadanie uratowania całego królestwa przed nadciągającą zagładą. Rozgrywka jest typowo klasycznie uformowana pod tym względem i polegać będzie na taktycznej (turowej) walce ze zróżnicowanym przeciwnikiem w czasie wykonywania poszczególnych misji głównych bądź pobocznych rozwijających wątek fabularny. W czasie którego gracz ma okazję zwerbować do własnych szeregów nowych śmiałków ze świata, mogących niejednokrotnie zwiększyć wasze możliwości w walce ze znacznie liczniejszym wrogiem. W czasie rozgrywki postacie otrzymują doświadczenie pozwalające im z czasem zwiększyć poszczególne wskaźniki charakteryzujące daną postać (podwyższyć jej poziom) oraz wyposażyć ją w nowo zdobyczny ekwipunek. Sprzęt kupujecie w mieście u handlarzy bądź też zdobywacie od pokonanych przeciwników – z kuferków poukrywanych po poszczególnych lokalizacjach w których się pojawicie. To klasyczna zabawa w bardzo klasycznym stylu, dlatego też być może będzie mało ekscytująca dla młodszego grona odbiorców – wychowanych na bardziej rozbudowanych produkcjach. Pod względem technicznym nie wyróżnia się znacząco od innych gier z tego uniwersum, oprawa graficzna ma już swoje lata, system kontroli postaci jest dosyć oporny a przy czym balans poszczególnych postaci względem jednostek wroga jest nie do końca dobrze dostrojony.
