For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Gameplay: 10/10 A little basic but lots of fun. The inputs go with the beat of the music. I like playing as a Space Invader and being able to customize. There are 3 difficulty levels with highscore tracking and letter grades. Also lots of achievements to earn, over 1,000! Requires a little configuration to get a gamepad to work, however. Graphics: 8/10 It's pretty and a variety of levels and no syncing issues with the music. Basic but good. Sound: 10/10 Lots of great variety and Japanese songs with collabs from other games. It also has Japanese voice acting for the host in the menus! Overall: 9/10 It's a great game and a must have for Japanese rhythm game enthusiasts!
Fun game but this versions abandoned, get the switch version if that’s an option for you
Fun game when it works. Worked ok on my old PC, won't run in fullscreen at all without crashing on my new one. Shame it got abandoned and left in this state.
Half baked port with an even more half baked song selection. I'd say go play the arcade or mobile versions but Squenix killed them both ;(
A Brilliant and Dizzying Trip Trapped in a Bare-Bones 1980s Arcade Menu TL;DR: This rhythm game gets my recommendation, but with a side of caveats you have to be okay with eating. I’ve had Groove Coaster on my wishlist for some time (after the rhythm game bug and a return to arcade style games bit me a little while back). I received an alert that the game was on sale and took the plunge. Diving into the game is an exercise in both fascination and frustration. The core gameplay is unique and fun (once you get the controls figured out/configured). The title is spot on. The game is a literal "groove coaster" - a departure from the stationary "waterfall" style of rhythm games (e.g., DJMAX, Guitar Hero). This is the game. Nothing more. While playing a song, your avatar rides a white line that follows a path through 3D space. The perspective plays tricks with you, appearing to go faster and slower as the camera shifts, the background surges and notes fly in from the void or change on the track. Another interesting mechanic is the "ad-lib" system. These are hidden notes you hit by feeling the beat (usually a gap in a series of notes). The game rewards you for listening to the music. Granted, if your timing is off, it will count against you. This sounds cool. What's the catch? Buckle up. Holy cow. The UI/UX is a disaster. It took time just to force the game into full screen and then coax the controller to work. The menus feel like a clunky mobile port from a decade ago (or the original Nintendo system). There is little polish here. Navigating the menus feels like scrolling through the admin menus of an arcade cabinet from the 1980s. This is an arcade game with no trappings. There's no story, campaign, characters, or meta game. Taito ignored modern quality-of-life features and modern game design. Songs appear in a seemingly random order and there are no sorting or filtering options. If you want to return to a song to play unlocked difficulties, you have to fight the interface. Progression is an afterthought. You accrue currency for clearing songs, but the rewards are limited and lack appeal (outside of a handful of songs). The monetization follows bad trends of the genre. Instead of cohesive packs, the DLC exists as a fragmented wall of individual songs. You pay for the "ride" one track at a time. At least there's no in-game ads, cash shop or season pass. Typing about songs, what about the music? I don't know how many songs are present in the game. It doesn't communicate this and there's no easy way to find out. There's not even an in-game list (that I could find). The songs themselves are a mix. They all sound like songs made for (or edited for) a rhythm game and lean into techno/digital/8-bit styles. None stood out, but several annoyed me. However, the songs I heard work well within the context of the game. YMMV. Takeaway? Groove Coaster is a specialized tool for a specific itch. It offers a unique visual high that other rhythm games can’t replicate, but demands you tolerate software that feels antiquated, rushed and unfinished. You play for the three minutes of the "coaster" and endure the headache of the menus to get there. It's a great palate cleanser, provided you have the patience to wrestle with a ghost from the 80s. If only you could extract the core game and, with tweaks, place it into a robust and polished full robust framework (with all the bells and whistles, including meta content and activities). With these caveats in mind, I do recommend this game - on sale.
