Grim Tales: The Bride Collector's Edition

I'm giving this game a neutral thumb. I got so irritated by the lack of a map and constant backtracking. The story is not the best either. You are playing with a woman who has a twin sister who vanishes on her wedding day, some witnesses say a dark figure pushed her into the river but her body was not found. You drove to the mansion where you grew up before your sister took it. You noticed it is almost looking abandoned before a demon shows up in front of you to help you find your sister. You carelessly make a pact with the demon and dive into your sister's memories to understand what exactly has happened to her. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2971707712 There are six chapters in the game, whenever you dive into a memory, you'll go to a different area and collect some evidence before going back to the mansion and using whatever item you obtained from the memory. the gameplay is like any hidden object game, but since this is a classic game, it is heavy with hidden objects scenes and puzzles, the puzzles are unique however, and not boring. The music is almost none existing, and if it ever plays it is the same track looping over and over, I didn't enjoy it at all, the game sounded quiet most of the time. The journal is good, it gives an additional explanation to the story but I still don't understand how the two sisters separated at a young age and why the main character left. how can she survive alone at the age of 13? Cons -Some plot holes. -No fast traveling map. -No Steam achievements. -Almost no music in the game. -No voice-overs. Sometimes I wish games don't have bonus chapter like this one which doesn't add anything to the story, in fact, you'll wonder why it happened, why they sold the house when they know what is inside of it. Anyway, I only recommend this game if you enjoy classic hidden object games or the series of Grim Tales which I'm planning to play all of it. It's ok, it's an old game and it feels that way when you play it. Sometimes the controls are a bit tricky, but it's playable. Buy with discount =)

I was gonna give this a positive review because the game series generally falls into the category "so bad it's good" for me, but one of the puzzles in the winter section began choking my FPS and during the second to last puzzle in the game, I got softlocked. Frustrating experience. For context: I was playing on the hardest difficulty, no hints, no skips.

It was fun till the bugs are appearing. On the first Puzzle i had a bug and i could do nothing, the game just freeze. Forced to make a new Profile. At the second profile it worked perfect, but later on i got another bug where i cant use a handle to a mechanism to get an item. I tried anything to fix it but the game cant go further without the item. Now im forced to write this and refund the game! (wasnt the only one with the problem above!)

It feels very outdated. The story is slow and sometimes confusing. Toward the end of the game, the gameplay becomes repetitive—mostly fetching objects and backtracking across the entire map to place them. On top of that, the soundtrack often didn’t play and there was frequently no sound at all. Some puzzles were also broken due to bugs, which made the experience even more frustrating.
