Runtime errors render this game unplayable.
If your game crashes during pinball game, use left ball (red one I think) last.
This is Grim Facade #2. It follows the same format as Grim Facade #1 (Mystery of Venice)—a game which is unfortunately broken on Steam and you should not purchase—of difficult point-and-click adventures and hidden-object scenes interspersed with fairly easy puzzle mini-games. The bonus chapter is especially challenging! The game is quite old by now, and thus has a low resolution and awkward aspect ratio, but still plays well. One important thing to note: it is quite gruesome. You will see dead bodies, violent deaths, and the threat of suicide. If these things are not your cup of tea then avoid this game. Otherwise I cannot make heads or tails of the story. It almost seems like there was more planned but that was cut out in the final version. In any case, the game does a terrible job at conveying any narrative and it is impossible to care about the characters or their outcomes. The gameplay is very good, just don't expect anything else.
The game did crash to desktop with a runtime error every 45 minutes or so, but I was able to get back in with very little progress lost so it didn't prevent me from completing the game. Good hidden object scenes and decent puzzles. The story was kind of dumb and I ended up relying on hints to figure out how to progress in a few spots, but I still enjoyed my time with it. Animal lover warning: A dog is harmed, but you get to treat his wound and he's your helpful buddy throughout the entire game and bonus chapter.
