I am no good at twitch. I look for turn-based games so that I don't have to twitch. But you are required to play a twitch mini-game in order to execute any attack or defense. It requires very precise timing, and not in a "fun rhythm game" kind of way. If I'd know that I would never have bought it. Maybe this review can help others who don't like that sort of twitch mechanic to avoid wasting money.
I will say that game has a good foundation in terms of engaging mechanics and the developers have been very helpful, but it could use another year of development. The current build only has about 4 hours of main story content, assuming you don't encounter multiple sotlocks. Unfortunately, this might be the most unstable game I ever played in my life, I have never seen so many polish issues - every 2 minutes there is a new UI bug or some kind of visual problem. It's a very ambitious RPG for an indie developer because they have multiple complex systems, including town management, fate management, QTE-based combat system, party system, crafting system, and visible gear with multiple character classes - not to mention all of the generic features that come with a traditional RPG like the skills, story and loot balancing. Now the game technically has some randomization for replay value, however, right now the content is not relevant because you can easily outscale all of the enemies, making the good loot and grind worthless. The UI has all kinds of helpful features like fast travel and tooltips, that being said, it was broken for a big chunk of my playthrough. The game has a nice character creator, granted the creatures are purely cosmetic, so I would like to see some stat variations in the updates. There are no skill trees, but each class gets a couple of unique abilities that you can level up, in addition to stat distribution per level. In the defense of the game, I don't know why people complain about the combat on the timeline, it's a pretty common feature in this genre, and it's perfectly manageable in this game. You have to hit a button when the attack is inside a green circle, and even if you don't hit them, the difficulty is low enough that you can get away with it. As far the balancing, we have some serious issues with loot and enemy scaling. First of all, some of the AOE skills that hit all enemies seem to be just as powerful as single-target abilities, if not better. Even if you get lucky one time with a mid-range weapon, you going to kill most of the enemies with one attack. I killed the last boss in about 3 hits, and keep in mind that you have multiple members in your party, so not only the game is easy, you don't even need 3 additional characters to play it. To my surprise, the loot system is actually decent, in part because you can obtain good-looking weapons with useful stats in multiple ways (and they show up on the character). The "Fate" system is supposedly a big feature of this game that adds replay value, essentially changing dungeons and item stats based on choices (as far as I know, I didn't pay that much attention to it). I mean it's a cool idea, I am just not sure how practical it is in a game that does not provide many challenges. Like, there is no point for awesome gear if you have no challenging content for it to be needed. There are a couple of good features when it comes to 'town management, even though they are not fully realized. You can build different stores, assign people to work in them based on their stats, and even buy items. Furthermore, the game has a relatively complete crafting system which includes a big assortment of resources and recipes. Unfortunately, the story so far has nothing to offer, it's pretty dull and I almost wonder if it would be better for them to focus completely on grinding - you not going to please anyone if you do both half-way.
Pros:
+ nice variety of mechanics, granted all of them need more work + I like the character creation, but I also want to see some stat variety + the loot system and combat is fine, the balancing is another problem + overall I like the UI (when it's not being glitchy)
Cons:
(x) extremely glitchy, many softlocks too (x) pretty big balancing problems, enemies can't keep up (x) the dungeon and levels are pretty ugly (x) the story is not engaging
Feedback:
Balancing & lack of challenge - It's too easy to outscale the content if you get a few decent items, literally killing all enemies with 1, maybe 2 attacks (and I am not even considering 3 additional characters). Give a player something to look forward to, place some optional bosses that would kick your butt if you don't grind. Also, pretty much all of the AOE attacks need a nerf in this game, they do very similar damage to single-target moves (dervish comes to mind). Perhaps another option would be to add various dungeon difficulties for more exp, but I think you need some enemies that are more durable as well. On that note, there are very few enemies in this game that do much damage. Level Design - your RNG dungeons look like crap and not fun to explore (sorry just being honest). I would prefer premade areas like your forest and sewers, although they could use more love as well - at least with unique locations you could design some interesting platforming. You can do both, but I think people will appreciate hand-crafted locations. Character Creation & Story - just give each faction small stat differences, some personalization goes a long way, and make sure you say what they are on the screen. As for the narrative, you not going to impress anyone with what you have, don't even waste your time with it, if you want to do the whole city sandbox with RPG elements, focus on that and challenge progression. I was enjoying the game more when I was running around the city looking for things, reminded me of Fable a bit. Other nitpicks - it's not clear to the player what the 'Temple' is. I couldn't figure out how to switch my current party members with the 5th character. Not sure why the game often asks you to confirm an action if you already agreed. Sell? Yes? Confirm? Yes! Overall Thoughts: 5/10 I can tell the devs are trying to make something good, but I can't overlook so many problems with glitches and game design. Even if they keep it up, we probably looking at more than a year of needed polish and story content. Also, there is not enough content to call it a proper release, this should still be in early access. I can see myself enjoying the game, but right now the finish line looks unrealistic. Wheel of Fate combines classic storytelling with interactive elements and cinematic cutscenes using a quest based progression. The gameplay is designed to allow the player to create their own story within the plot and to uncover the ancient secrets of fate and defeat the armies of chaos. You begin your journey pursuing the army that destroyed your village into a forgotten town stumbling across your destiny as the "Avatar of Fate". You will find unexpected allies and learn the ancient magical secrets of the temple that will help you defend against the chaos that threatens to destroy the world. Gameplay: You control the hero as you explore this magical fantasy world populated with unique enemies and ever evolving dungeons. With town building elements and resource management you can bring prosperity or ruin. The unique turn-based combat system requires you to master the skills of each of your party members and defeat your foes using strategic skill selection, hand eye coordination and precise activation to chain your strikes and reduce incoming damage. The choices you make culminate in minor and major changes to the world once the "Wheel of Fate" is spun, so choose wisely! The diverse character races and the unique soundtrack bring you a bit closer to complete immersion in a world apart from our own. Due to the ever evolving plot and random events that occur due to the choices you make in game, Wheel of Fate also offers a great deal of replay-ability and is fun for all ages.
Let me start this off by saying that while there's both good and bad, my overall experience with this game has been really fun and positive so far. From what I can see, this game is a turn-based RPG + Dungeon Crawler + Touch of Roguelite. Interesting combo for sure, but one worth exploring! The good: Are you a fan of timing mechanics from Mario RPGs? If you are, then you are going to ADORE the battle system in this like I do. At the moment, you don't have to worry about MP or anything like that, rather how effectively can you time your button presses for your skills? The loot system gave me plenty of options in battle where my skills just weren't covering it, such as a boss battle where I was definitely in over my head. Pop a few stat potions I found on the way, and while it didn't become easy, it became doable! It was still a half hour boss fight, which I can't say about many RPGs these days. :D The music and some visuals are pleasing, especially the battle tunes! I also enjoyed a lot of character customization options. The bad: I ran into a lot of bugs. Most were manageable but two left me scratching my head or having to revert to a previous save. Keep in mind that I'm playing an early build and have scouted around on their Discord, and to my delight they're taking bug reports seriously! The only real complaint that I feel that I have right now is that the user experience needs the most work. Tooltips to explain what some things are would be useful, but I'm rather certain that's going to be fixed soon. Overall? It's far from perfect, but Wheel of Fate certainly isn't bad. It's a game that I'm going to certainly be visiting often.
This is game is full of bugs, from quests not showing up, to black screen, to item not giving what they say they would (eg: picking up zodiac scrolls but not getting credit for it)... it is fun but unfinished... too bad
A mishmash of lots of good ideas...
It's a turn-based RPG with leveling, a skill-tree, and a myriad of weapons/armor just like Final Fantasy... but it has base-building and base-management mechanics as well. The game unfortunately doesn't have voice acting and the entire game (graphics, UI, artstyle, level-design, etc.) feels 'rough', which is usually indicative of a very small dev team, so those are 2 down-sides. But with all that considered, the real question is: Is the game fun, and is it worth $15? The answer to both those questions is 'sure'. It's not the best $15 game on Steam, and it's not the most fun $15 game on Steam, but it's 'fine'. The game currently does enough for me to recommend it, and who knows, in the future with a year or so of dev time the game might actually be very good and the 'rough' stuff I mentioned above can certainly be improved upon with time. So yeah, I can recommend it even in its current 'early access' state For more reviews, visit my curator page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/7851637/ For my full recommended list of games: https://steamcommunity.com/id/lfpg/recommended/
Cant recommend at this state. It is full of gamebreaking bugs that you encounter as soon as you start looting stuff. The map is a mess too. It has potential but needs a few patches. I wonder why this is not marked as Early Access, it clearly is.

I really enjoy Wheel of Fate. It has easy to use combat system that is turned base but still requires a bit more skill from the player. I also enjoy how you change the fate with your actions in the game. The graphics have to be my favorite part I like how everything looks and I am overall excited to keep playing this game.
Disclaimer, I got a code for free as an RPG livestreamer on twitch. So far what I've played of the game I've enjoyed. The combat is really fun and reminds me of a bunch of old RPGs I used to play as a kid. The graphics while basic aren't terrible and suit the game just fine, the story I find interesting and the idea of the AI learning from my choices and shaping the world based on my choices is really cool. There are some issues like the audio sliders not working and there are some areas that bug out that UDX are aware of and working to fix. I also did see some grammar issues in the text but it's nothing major. After 3 hours of play the game has me hooked and I want to play more and see more of this game.
