If I could give this game a neutral rating, I probably would honestly. It doesn't do anything BAD necessarily, but it also is kinda a bit bland? The goods of course are the story, the art style, and the music is fairly good too. The bad of it...is It is pretty short? Like a full 100% run (not including achievements) took me only 2.5 hours, and that's with a few minor pauses in between. The voice acting is fine, but i felt it could be a little better as I felt some of the characters were rather hard to hear, or sounded rather annoying. The game-play is fine I felt but it was kinda stale, I don't see much of a reason to replay the game other than to maybe be a true competition for achievements like speed-running, which I don't really agree with that achievement as I sort of feel that it would be rather annoying to speed run due to Janky gravity at times i feel with how hard it is to control. Overall, I would say if you get it on like maybe 50% off its kinda worth it, but at the full 15$ price tag I cant really see that kind of value in it. If your looking for a challenge I would probably skip as the game is pretty easy.
Wow, hard to believe this game is now ten years old. It was the first Steam game I bought blind with only a little blurb from someone online saying it was good. Just replayed it for the first time in years and here are some of my impressions. The Good: *The colors are lovely, especially in the spirit world. They are the first thing about the game that catches your eye. *The soaring/drifting mechanic feels good once you adjust to it. *The drama beats mostly work well and there is a enough mystery to keep you interested, though that is not the main draw of the game. *Paced well if you're looking for a game to play for ~30 mins at a time. I played in two 1.5hr long sittings. *It was nice seeing hints of a culture that isn't common in video games. Not the main focus, but the little glimpses add character. Neutral: *The comedy is rough in a unfunny joke told by a friend/relative way. So there is some charm to it but you're still groaning a bit inside. *It needs those comedy moments because boy is this game bleak. Once you get past the colorful vibes this game is just sad. It sort of reminds me of What Remains of Edith Finch that way, though the tone, story pacing, and mechanics between the two are very different. * The voice actors are clearly not professionals. I found it charming and it reminded me of the era this game was made in, but it could be a turn off for some. The Bad: * Unless you want to fool around there is zero need to use any of the magic hair powers aside from the first one you learn. Then later in the game you learn a skill that makes that defunct. Which is too bad since there is potential with those mechanics in a slightly different game. * A handful of puzzles require you to use a magnet skill to draw multiple objects to the same point. Glad it was not more common as the process was fiddly in an unfun way. I'm glad I revisited this and could see myself playing it again somewhere down the line. It's short and sweet gameplay with a sad story that hits harder now I'm older.
A very cute game! Some of the writing is a little clumsy and some of dialogue is voiced a little stiffly, but the story does the job. One scene in particular involves a very adorable critter singing a song and that is a little ditty that will probably stay in my head for the rest of my life. The biggest beef I actually have with this game is that some of the later power-ups you receive completely break the game and let you ignore some of the game's mechanics entirely. But that's alright, I guess, I don't think anyone is playing this for the challenge.
Cute game with a bittersweet story and a fun gameplay mechanic. Would reccomend to anyone, with exception to who those get dizzy easily. @_@ XD
Excellent jeu.
I adored the vibrant artstyle of this game! The controls were a little clunky at times but it didn't fully ruin my experience of the game!
Physics platformer with a beautiful art style and interesting theme about a young girl dealing with a recent tragedy that struck her family. Story is well written and the game gives you small pieces of it over time as you play. The gameplay has you jumping off of planets and using their gravity to grab stars and objects that extend the length of your hair, stars open the door that completes the level. As the game goes on you learn new abilities and collect elements that let you change planets which could either allow you to go inside them if you change it to water, or it might change the gravity effect of the planet, some of the elements ended up having no real use gameplay wise to me (ice, crystal, and air), changing the planets is done by walking around them while using your extended hair to wrap around them dropping the element you want. You also collect the spirits of animals that you then bring to their bones in levels to revive them, and you meet other animals that are the guardians of each of the constellations that you visit. Some levels can be completed in seconds and do nothing interesting. Some of the more challenging levels become annoying due to not being able to control yourself well enough, the dash move being made useful could have helped. I never thought the gameplay reached heights of the art or narrative.
+机制、美术、音乐、剧情样样灵 -关卡设计没有发挥机制的全部潜力,后期关卡有点敷衍 这么好的游戏为什么不火,痛心 (谢谢蒸友送我游戏!)
Very underrated game, fun (especially for puzzle enjoyers), and good storyline
