I can say yes to this game, if only barely. The short version: ++Cute, simple graphics lend a lot to the aesthetic of the game. If anything I wish there were more of it +Good soundtrack - doesn't start with the best music but it grows on you +Game mechanics are simple but still enjoyable +Class mixing gives the option to create strong mixed utility characters ~Almost every map is a sloped battle, designed to put you at a constant mechanical disadvantage ~Pointless item farming to complete the item journal. There are low % items from very specific enemies in very specific maps, leading to hours of blind guessing where an item might be. ~There just isn't enough story to make any of the villains memorable.
Ice Magus has a small semblance of chivalry, and it's instantly thrown away one map later. Levy is the only one that isn't hugely forgettable.
~Final Boss is absurdly difficult.
If you aren't perfectly set up or have bad luck, this fight can take numerous tries. She'll gain a permanent agi boost at low health that allows 3-4 turns per round. She has an aoe "drop to 1hp" attack, but also an aoe "200 damage" attack - if she decides to use both of these back to back, you simply lose.
Some enjoy ridiculous fights, so take this as you will. -"Half-panel elevation" steps are incredibly buggy and immune to most forms of spear/magic targeting -Any "always have x" buff equipment is dispel-able, and effectively pointless -While many races share classes, the vital equipment all have racial limitations that make them vastly inferior to other race/class matchups. A harpy mage or a guardian undine is hopelessly nonviable late-game. -Enemies in general have skills unlocked that they can't possibly have at their level.
L65 Heretic Knights having Guard, Hardy, Double Attack, Counter Boost and Blitz gives them a level value of 78. Even forgiving that tank characters can't even learn Counter Boost, it puts them at 20% stronger than they should be and it shows.
--New Game+ is utterly pointless, as there is zero carryover.
It allows a different version of the final boss fight if you didn't kill the other lesser Magus bosses, but they could have implemented this by failing the Magus fights on a normal play through. Even so, there is zero story difference in this, just a silly achievement.
-
The Easter Egg to recruit Levy does nothing for the story. She replaces Kako and is a direct downgrade, making an already difficult final map even tougher. What's the point?
It's a fun game despite it's issues, but there is a hell of a lot of useless fluff. Zero actual replayability so...maybe get it when it's on sale, otherwise I'd give it a hard pass.
Magic Scroll Tactics is a turn-based tactical RPG made with Unity, which you will embark on a journey to stop the resurrection of an evil mage. Features cute artwork, funny dialogues, pleasant BGM. Achievements available. Story: the story is simple and short, you will spend most of your time in battles. The evil mage minions are trying to resurrect their master, but Kako, the warden of the seal will try to avoid this. While Kako is waiting for reinforcements to battle with the evil mage, she will befriend with Nash, a summoner that will help Kako and her mission. In their battles, they will meet Levy, an enemy obsessed with treasures and will keep pestering your journey. The game has not romance/love elements. The story is short but Nash´s friendship is admiring, will try help Kako in every way, even risking his own life. Levy can be an enemy, but her actions and dialogues are funny. About the game: Magic Scroll Tactics is an addictive side-scrolling turn-based tactical RPG made with Unity, which you will control a summoner (Nash) and her minions to stop the resurrection of an evil mage. As a summoner, you have 5 summonable races (Garm, Salamander, Harpy, Grippli, Merfolk) and 5 classes (Warrior, Archer, Tank, Mage, Cleric). You can summon any race and choose their class to compose your party. Each class has a detailed skill-tree, with many learnable skills to help with your battles. Each defeated enemy will grant EXP to your party, once they reach next level you will gain points to spend with new skills. If you want, you can change your minions classes. Some minor text errors were spotted, but will not ruin your game. The game does not contain VA. NG+ is available, sadly will start everything from zero (no skills, money, low level, weak items, etc); after the prologue, you can choose any scene to battle again. Pro: cute artwork, pleasant BGM, nice tactical game Cons: NG+ can be better, you cant choose your minions name (they are random) Conclusion: Magic Scroll Tactics is a game that deserves more attention, and still can be improved in many ways (NG+, shop, text). Recommended if you like tactical RPG games.
The high ground is the key for the victory
I wasted time here that I can never get back. Art is nice. Characters are cute. Everything else? Bleh... It seems the developers had a good outline of what the game could be but then just gave up half-way. You're forced to grind through useless skills to get the ones you want or need. What each of the skills does is also explained poorly. The auto-battle might seem convenient at first for grinding levels, but the rewards you get are so minuscule that you feel like you're absolutely wasting your time and electricity running this game. Story is boring and characters are flat. The level design and difficulty curves in this game felt unreasonable to me. Some mobs were frustrating to beat and I felt no satisfaction upon progressing.
A cute strategy game that's similar FFT Enjoyed throughout the game. There's quite a few flaws, no biggie.

Short story
Charming art
Versatility builds
Can play with controller, comfier to play
The flaws are:

Lack of explanation on what attribute and effects does do, forcing to do trials and error
There are maps where have half floors that affects the skills, some gain benefits, some lose or not able to use.
You don't get another chance on story maps if you missed treasure chest, It's notn explained in.
There are certain chapters where you are stalled and is forced to grind on free maps or sheer luck to clear it due to the mobs being overpowered

Literally NG (without plus) starting all over again

Overall i would recommend game, as long it's on sale SPOILER:
There's a special item in shop you get by selling dragon blood

You get Levi in your party by fuilfilling certain conditions but replaces Kako until you resuce Kako again

In NG if you skip all bosses you get to fight all 4 magus on final chapter 5-3
Honestly, I was enjoying playing this game, with its charming art and neat elevation gimmick. This lasted up until the second battle of the third chapter, in which I was besieged on both sides by enemies that quickly overpowered me, even when I tried to plan around their spells. Attempting to grind experience and power through didn't seem worth it after a while, because the foes in the strongest Free Battle available didn't scale up; I was fighting Lv. 27 foes to prepare myself for a Lv. 35 mini-boss. And my rewards for actually clearing this battle, I realized, are even MORE battles like it, and the continuation of a very simple story with one-dimensional characters. Combine this with the absolute lack of information given to the player, whether it concerns where to get certain items or even basic things like a tutorial on the skill tree, and I can't imagine regular Tactics fans having anything but a sour experience. Too Long; Didn't Read: A charming first impression, but not worth the eventual frustration.

Pros Cons

Lovely pixel art
Interesting Battle System
Lots of Skills to Mix and Match

Steep Difficulty Curve
Story is Lacking
Lack of Useful Tutorials

This game is great, but has terrible stability and the developers have left. Apparently, I can see that I'll enjoy the game itself, but it keeps shutting my laptop down after 15 minutes or so and when I turn on again, the laptop shuts itself down after some seconds. only then the laptop can start normally again...
An excellent side-view strategy RPG clearly inspired by Final Fantasy Tactics. There are comparatively few classes (exactly as many as you have character slots, in fact), but each one has a lot of depth in terms of how it can develop; the game feels straightforward, but with enough depth to character customization to keep you coming back, especially once you begin combining abilities from different classes. The difficulty curve is a bit uneven (it's fairly easy early on and spikes dramatically near the end of the game), and the plot is very simple, but the solid gameplay is well worth the asking price.
If u wanna random where u can't understood anything, better go in casino. This game more ♥♥♥♥ then good. U can shoot arrows through walls, floor and ally but for magic its cryptonite. And u can miss healing...WHAT?
