worth it on sale, but definitely a nostalgia bait game. Many of the missions have aged like milk and that's mostly due to the poor driving physics or awful ai. Most of my issues in missions had been due to the police, they treat your car like its made of paper and you just slide all over the road. If you get the FIB on you, they will ram the ♥♥♥♥ out of you in their kurumas while the game consistently spawns like 4 at a time. It was as aggravating as a kid as it still is now; though, I've been spoiled the last near 2 decades with actual solid ai from 4 and 5... mostly 5... can't forget the infamous traffic of East Borough Bridge in 4 teehee. As for the game itself, don't expect a full remake or anything. its just a remaster, meaning its just visuals. But I don't think that's news to anyone at this point. It is essentially the equivalent to taking the base game from 2001 and slapping on an enb and texture overhauls, except it actually like. runs pretty well, something ol' Boris wouldn't ever be able to conceive of. From what I recall, the trilogy launched pretty poorly but is actually playable now; so, despite how annoying some of the missions can be, I still loved this game as a kid and it holds a special place in my heart, as do all the other GTAs, which is why I have said it's worth it on sale, but as much as I love rockstar... I'm not paying $80 for digital copies of 25+ year old games, and the soul reason I even picked the trilogy up is to replay all of the previous gta games before 6 drops.

Nostalgia and not too bad of a game considering it has been tweaked a little. So far it has been a fun replay after some odd years ago. I say pick it up if you have never played or if you want to revisit. 10/10 from me

I know these remasters were pretty messed up when they came out but decided to give them a shot during a sale since I saw they received an update back in 2024 and I'm pleasantly surprised how nice it looks and plays with a more modern control scheme.

GTA III: The Definitive Edition — улучшенная версия, но с большим «но» Definitive Edition в первую очередь решает главную проблему оригинальной GTA III — теперь не нужно самостоятельно искать фанатские патчи, чтобы привести игру в более-менее рабочее состояние. Современные системы она воспринимает гораздо лучше, оптимизация в целом присутствует, а играть на высоких настройках вполне комфортно. Визуально игра получила заметное обновление: улучшенные отражения, блики фар, освещение и некоторые детали делают Либерти-Сити гораздо богаче по сравнению с оригиналом. Да, это всё еще старая игра, но выглядит она уже куда приятнее на современных мониторах. Однако у этого издания есть серьезный минус — история его релиза. На старте сборник получил огромное количество критики из-за технического состояния, багов и спорных решений. Многие проблемы постепенно исправляли, но осадок после выхода остался, особенно учитывая первоначальную цену. Покупать Definitive Edition отдельно за полный ценник смысла практически нет. Гораздо логичнее брать сборник из трех игр, особенно по хорошей скидке. В таком варианте это уже более оправданная покупка. Итог: улучшенная версия классики, которая стала удобнее и красивее, но из-за цены и проблемного старта её сложно рекомендовать без скидки. Ждать распродаж и брать.

REVIEW IN PROGRESS: Experienced some audio glitches once but overall its been good performance. Consistent 60 FPS at 4k high settings. Its funny playing games you haven't played since you were a child - I remember it took me AGES to get to the 2nd island when I was a kid. This time around I'm focusing primarily on the story and it took me exactly 2.5 hours to get to the 2nd island lol. EDIT #1: I recommend this game if A) You played this as a kid and want to play it for nostalgia's sake and to see it with better graphics or B) you never played it, but are interested in the history of the series and where it all began (because lets be real, THIS is where it all began, not GTA 1 or 2), then its worth a playthrough. If you don't fall into those categories then I think you can give this one a pass, and you should play Vice City/San Andreas instead. Ultimately GTA3 is pretty shallow - the map is small and fairly uninteresting, the gameplay is pretty janky, and there isn't much to do around the city. I played this obsessively as a kid though, so its been a very fun trip through memory lane for me.

[h1]50 FPS on a game made in 2001.[/h1] I personally don't think GTA III is a good game at all, at least compared to any other GTA games including the ones made in the same era as GTA III. But the remaster is terrible, if I had the choice to play either the original GTA III or The Definitive Edition, I'm picking the original any day.
