Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Sep 3 → 1/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About

Choose your side in the American Civil War: Real-time campaign, spanning from Secession to the end of the war, with historical objectives for both sides.
Five campaign scenarios (Pre-War, 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864) and twenty (20) stand-alone battles from 1st Manassas in 1861 to Appomattox Court House in 1865.
Change history: What if European superpowers intervened to end the war, or Lincoln lost the presidential election of 1864?
Scott’s Great Snake: Lay siege, raid and blockade your enemy on land and sea or use blockade runners to keep the life-lines to Europe open.
From Fort Sumter to Appomattox: Watch closely the morale of your citizens and troops. As the war drags on, fervor turns to fatigue, the treasury threatens to run dry, and measures like drafting will cause unrest.
Keep the armies marching: Build and manage the flow of supplies to your armies. Utilize and expand railroad lines to supply and move armies for the first time in history!
Pivotal battles: Fight battles lasting multiple days on historical battlefields. Use engineers to build pontoons and dig trenches, see reinforcements change the tide and commit your reserves to defeat the enemy.
Grant vs. Lee: Manage hundreds of historical commanders with personal attributes and specialization. Famous commanders inspire soldiers and citizens alike and loss of reputation can be irreparable.
Command Great Armies: Huge armies of infantry, cavalry and artillery, with realistic command structures and historical Order of Battle.
Bring the Civil War to life: Amazing Civil War re-enactment and combat footage from LionHeart FilmWorks, and an original soundtrack of old time music and drum and fife band.Updates
Build ids and update times come straight from Steam's PICS — the same source SteamDB reads. Patch history grows as we record new builds.

Needs someone to sit down for a year and iron out all the little bugs and annoyances Just frustrating at the minute
It's not a TW game, it was never intended to be. I have played almost every serious attempt at an American Civil War game ever published and this one is by far the best execution that I have experienced. It's not easy to pick up, you will have to spend some time with it but it's worth the effort. Nor is the game perfect, it has some oddities in it but no deal-breakers. A few things you need to know about the game up front: units don't move on direct command/click, orders have to come through the Order of Battle. I believe you can turn this feature off in the settings but I recommend using it for the experience and realism. Expect realistic combat sequences - frontal charges into defended positions with infantry are basically suicide. The battles, and the overall game itself, are based on the principle of breaking the enemy's morale. Units only execute orders on the strategic map when they have high enough Readiness. You have to think ahead and be very deliberate with your decision-making. Make sure you want to do what ever it is you are trying to do before you send the order. Finally, I find the battles challenging but not impossible. Every piece of the of the equation matters when it comes to the battlefield: Unit types & sizes, weapons, commander's skill-set, terrain, weather, everything. The AI will surprise you, even on the easiest setting. Each unit type, has a purpose and needs to be used accordingly. Finally, proper use of skirmishers is a must, trust me.

A lot of potential but its missing a lot of polish. If your a history nerd and absolutely wanna play a civil war game and you can over look bugs and the AI makeing poor choices or doin dumb things like getting confused by a river and just walking around for like ten minutes then go ahead and wait for a sale. Edit The devs have abandoned this game and the "community" is applauding this. just wow.
At this time 27th August I feel Whiskey & Lemons is not ready. I say this after going through the initial setup of my profile which is lengthy, waiting to be be deployed. Then in the process of deployment being re-directed twice.... THEN... the game just locked up on me. I had to do the old Control+Alt+Delete. I think will leave this game until it sorts itself out. Shame because I love it. But it's not ready to deliver yet, in my opinion.
It looked fun, but to me its HOI with a civil war skin and a rather unpolished tutorial that throws way too much at you way to fast and bugs out by either not spawning objectives to progress or the AI just deciding today is the day we go for a hike while the enemy smashes them with artillery. Unfortunately its a no from me.
about the best civil war game available at ht e present time,
I LOVE WATCHING BRIGADES OF MEN SHOOT AT EACH OTHER WITH RIFLE MUSKETS AND SEEING HUGE CASUALTIES I AM NOT A SOCIOPATH ALSO ONLY GET THE GAME WHEN ON SALE FOR AT LEAST 50% OFF THE DEVS HAVE PRETTY MUCH MOVED ON FROM THIS GAME SO EXPECT PLENTY OF BUGS AND TAKE THE GAME WITH A HEAVY GRAIN OF SALT ALSO THE READINESS SYSTEM SUCKS I DONT USE IT BECAUSE IM NOT A NERD IN THIS VERY NICHE GAME FOR HISTORY NERDS
With the inclusion of the Whiskey & Lemon DLC, this game has no competition, it saw gaps in the 19th century wargaming world, and it conquered. At this moment (to the best of my knowledge) this is the ONLY civil war game (actually, ANY 19th century wargame) with a massive non-linear dynamic sandbox campaign that features a player-character centric role-immersion experience where the character leads their own part of the war, and as they rank up the scope of the game increases. Amazing! Well done. This review is not good enough for this game (I'll have to redo the review). Strongly recommend you buy it. If it's on sale, just do yourself a favor and buy it.
