About
Welcome home! The award-winning sci-fi city builder is back - remastered, expanded, and more stunning than ever. Your mission: colonize Mars and survive the process, from exploration and infrastructure to welcoming human colonists and achieving long-term stability. There are new challenges to overcome, new strategies to plan, and now with an upgraded look and feel for a new generation of explorers.
All you need for this relaunched mission to create a thriving Martian settlement is a steady supply of resources, oxygen, decades of training, experience with sandstorms… and a curious attitude to discover the purpose of those weird black cubes that appeared out of nowhere. With a bit of sprucing up, this place is going to be awesome!
Surviving Mars: Relaunched brings together the original colony management game from Haemimont Games, its entire catalogue of expansions, improved and reworked, from major expansions to cosmetics and radio stations, as well as the all-new Martian Assembly update. Upgraded graphics together with updated UI will give veteran players the definitive Surviving Mars experience, and provide an ideal launch point for new commanders as well.
Are you ready? Mars is waiting for you.
The new Martian Assembly brings an expanded endgame challenge never seen in the original. Shape your Martian society through laws. Balance the needs and demands of your colonists, keep the peace and develop a long-term plan for Mars - up to and including independence from Earth!

Building a thriving colony on a planet not fit for human life brings its own challenges. Construct life-support systems, power grids, domes, and supply chains, and keep them running, because blackouts on a planet without oxygen are never a good idea. And you’re not alone. With the included ‘Space Race’ expansion, rival colonies backed by competing sponsors add even more pressure as you fight for resources and the future of Mars.

Balance critical resources like oxygen, water, power, and food to keep your colony alive. Drones build and maintain your infrastructure, while the revamped ‘Martian Express’ adds trains that move people and supplies across longer distances. Every colonist has their own needs and behaviors and smart management is essential for their survival.

Advance your colony through a deep research system that unlocks new buildings, production methods, and essential upgrades. Discover breakthroughs, resources, and hidden secrets reaching ‘Below & Beyond’ the Martian surface. With randomized maps, varied sponsors, and unpredictable Mysteries, every playthrough offers new challenges, and every decision shapes your story of survival and growth on Mars.

Terraforming is no longer a distant dream, it’s your next challenge. With the included ‘Green Planet’ expansion, you can engineer Mars into a more habitable world. As the environment transforms, introduce animal life with ‘Project Laika’, bringing the first creatures to thrive alongside your colonists. The future of Mars isn’t just survival, it’s building a self-sustaining, living planet.

Paradox has pretty much ruined the outlook on this game. The original devs returning to Surviving Mars should have been a triumph. This is an awesome game that deserves a long life of support -- but I've already had to pay for the base game and its DLC *twice* now, like a f*cking idiot. Literally had to buy this version just to get the bug fixes from the previous version Paradox ruined. Don't be me kids, and genuinely do not think about getting this game at least until the dust has settled. At any point they could decide to recharge for any inch of this game, yet again. They've already set the precedent for paying for bug fixes. Just don't get this game, but it really is a great game, so if you do, then know what you're getting yourself into and prepare for maximum Paradox bullsh*t.
If you've never played the original, this is a solid game. Highly reccomend. People like myself that started from the original game, have nothing positive to say about this game. Quite honestly, we all feel ripped off. It's literally the exact same game with some new visual asthetics. The diplomacy addition is a joke, feels rushed and incomplete. thats honestly it for new content. No new maps. Same boring planet, with the same spawn locations. They couldn't even give us a new map, and they released paid DLC for a new faction? The devs are showing their true intentions with this relaunch. It's sad as I truly loved the original and had high hopes for this.
Played the original, was excited to play a less buggy version with all the DLC (even though i bought a lot on the original). On the very first playthrough, i encountered the freezing Inispiring Arch. gltich, which was present in the original, and made me stop playing then. I don't see how i could have been fooled into paying again to just experience the same issues. Tried the mod fix, didn't work. I've troubleshot enough, it's a lazy cashgrab instead of what should be a great game. Don't buy it.
I feel like I've payed this before. There's a few additions, mostly from DLC and/or mods. It's identical to the original, with some lipstick. My uncle used to say "a pig with lipstick on, is still a pig." I've requested a refund, after 88 minutes of play.
As a returning player i really wanted to like this relaunch, alas I cannot. It is still the original one with a little more graphic polish and some nice additional mechanics (now we got train, undergrounds, asteroid mining) however most of the original problems are still there or worsened (drones missing resupply, colonist dying crossing the entire map for unknown reasons, minimal interaction between rivals,...). I will continue playing the game and probably mod it but as for now i cannot recommend it - it is not a relaunch, it is a reskin. I hope that future patches will allow me to change this feedback.
the game crashes shortly after day 100 and requires me to restart my computer. Nevermind I'm pretty sure its because of the lakes.
THE GOOD -Mars! THE BAD -Scanning takes forever, even sped up, to reveal the map. Because even though we've been scanning Mars for a billion years now, we still need to scan MORE because "reasons". It is clear the devs do not value my time or yours and hit you with time wasting bloat. JUST SHOW US THE F*CKING MAP. -Controller support my @$$. I have the Steam controller and this game is janky af with a controller, I hate it. If you say you have controller support, then you'd better have controller support. Don't fall for their lies! -Time wasting nonsense even in the building mode that's supposed to be easier. I have to sit there and direct every last f*cking vehicle? How is this THE FUTURE when I can't program a simple rover? Kids can do that these days on a cellphone but we can't in THE FUTURE? lol. lmao even. -Why can't we just build and terraform? I'm not here for politics. I am here for MARS. Swear to god these idiots forgot the purpose of their game. MARS, idiots. -STOP SPAMMING MESSAGES ffs just let me play the game don't make me read your sh!tty filler text that's probably AI slop. -Soundtrack isn't interesting nor "futuristic" its just bland and boring and adds nothing to the game. I wound up playing and listening to world cup soccer instead. THE UGLY -Controls on this game are sooOOooOOoOooOoOOoOooOoo bad. -Setting up a game takes a long time and by the time you're done, there's no guarantee that the map will be viable UNTIL you scan the map which, again, takes FOREVER. So you set up a game, scan it, find there's no where to park your rocket and then you have to DO IT ALL AGAIN. -Your support of the mod community is a joke. That modders have to fix your game is an insult to your players. We paid money for a functioning game and you gave us cr@p and told us it was a feature. VERDICT This game is a waste of time. A frustration simulator. Your time is better spend slamming a car door shut on your head. Play Frostpunk 2 or Tropico.
What f game is this? Never ending game? The player looses its interest after first game. Actually that never ends. No goal, no purpose just disasters and people dying? WTF? I wouldn't recommend this game to my enemies let alone friends
Its still terrible don't waste your money. WTF
Surviving Mars is a fun game (Unrealistic and Zubrinist, but it's a mars colony sim, so you get what you signed up for), but Relaunched just doesn't carry enough new features to be worth it if you bought the original. I only got Green Planet and Rivals, so the Below and Beyond features are good, but it's just not there. The graphics aren't better (Sepia filter, basically), the interface is odd (buttons aren't aligned) and it has as many bugs as the original. It's a fine buy on its own, but the original with all DLC is better if you can get it, and Relaunched wasn't worth it for me. I paid 20% off during a sale for the Ultimate edition and then refunded it, so I did end up playing 1ish hour in game for free.
