The game is amazing. It's super old, obviously, so proper modding is needed to bring it closer to current time, but in fact I used only workshop mods, fixing bugs, adding a compass and stuff like this. Yet exploring the world was extremely satisfying since you start like literally nothing and you're underpowered for most of the first 2-3 chapters. But the satisfaction when you're no longer nothing and in fact, you're the most important thing on this world is worth it. The only thing I really hated was diving - that took me quite a while to figure out (thanks grok) and the temple was a bit too long for my taste. But as a whole, I'm surprised just how good it was considering it's 25 years old. Not to mention how much it reminded me of the Witcher 1 which it apparently inspired.
