Gordy is an unconventional indie horror adventure that embraces surreal storytelling, dark humor, and emotional character development to create an experience that feels refreshingly different from the typical psychological thriller. Developed and published by MyGrandfather Games, the game centers on a lonely hermit whose quiet life in the wilderness changes after meeting Gordy, a strange feral man with unpredictable behavior. What begins as an oddly charming tale of companionship gradually transforms into a disturbing journey as an unknown corruption spreads through the forest, forcing players to question both the world around them and the fragile bond they have built. The game's unusual concept immediately captures attention, blending absurd comedy with unsettling suspense in a way that remains memorable throughout its brief runtime. Rather than relying on lengthy exposition, Gordy tells its story through exploration, conversations, and carefully paced environmental changes. The forest initially feels peaceful and inviting, encouraging players to enjoy the odd friendship that develops between the protagonist and Gordy. As the narrative unfolds, however, subtle changes in the environment and increasingly unsettling events create an atmosphere of constant uncertainty. The game excels at making players wonder whether the danger comes from an external force, Gordy himself, or the protagonist's own fragile perception of reality. This psychological approach gives the story more depth than its relatively simple premise initially suggests. The gameplay is intentionally straightforward, focusing on narrative progression instead of demanding mechanics. Players spend most of their time exploring the woodland environment, interacting with Gordy, and uncovering clues that reveal the truth behind the mysterious corruption overtaking the area. There are no overly complicated puzzles or combat-heavy encounters to interrupt the pacing, allowing the narrative and atmosphere to remain the primary focus. The estimated playtime of under an hour may seem short, but the game uses that limited duration effectively by avoiding repetitive objectives and maintaining a consistent sense of curiosity from beginning to end. One of Gordy's greatest achievements is its ability to balance comedy and horror without diminishing either. Gordy's eccentric personality provides plenty of amusing moments that make him an entertaining companion, while the darker narrative elements slowly introduce feelings of unease and suspicion. This contrast makes the horror sequences significantly more effective because they emerge from moments that initially seem lighthearted and harmless. Instead of depending on frequent jump scares, the game creates tension through uncertainty, leaving players constantly questioning what is real and whom they should trust. The visual presentation adopts a stylized independent art direction that favors atmosphere over technical realism. The forest environments evolve alongside the story, gradually shifting from tranquil landscapes into unsettling locations filled with subtle visual cues that reinforce the growing sense of dread. Lighting and environmental details effectively support the emotional tone of each chapter, while Gordy's expressive animations help define his unusual personality. Although the graphics are modest by modern standards, the artistic consistency ensures the game's presentation remains engaging throughout the experience. Audio design also plays an important role in maintaining immersion. Natural ambient sounds create the illusion of an isolated wilderness, while carefully timed silence enhances moments of suspense. The voice performances contribute significantly to the game's identity, particularly Gordy's unpredictable dialogue and mannerisms, which successfully alternate between humorous and unsettling. The soundtrack remains understated, allowing environmental audio and dramatic pacing to carry much of the emotional impact instead of overwhelming players with constant musical cues. Because of its concise length, Gordy inevitably leaves some players wishing there were additional chapters or expanded gameplay systems. Those searching for intricate puzzles, extensive exploration, or multiple gameplay mechanics may find the experience somewhat limited. However, its focused design also prevents unnecessary filler, ensuring that every scene serves the story and contributes to the emotional progression. The game's compact format ultimately works in its favor by delivering a complete narrative without overstaying its welcome. Overall, Gordy succeeds as an imaginative psychological horror adventure that confidently mixes bizarre comedy, emotional storytelling, and creeping suspense into a distinctive package. Its memorable characters, effective atmosphere, and willingness to embrace unconventional ideas make it stand out among indie horror titles. While its short runtime and minimalist gameplay may not satisfy players seeking a longer or more mechanically complex experience, those who appreciate narrative-driven games with strong personality and creative storytelling will find plenty to enjoy. It is a brief but impactful journey that demonstrates how originality and atmosphere can leave a lasting impression long after the credits roll. Rating: 7/10
i love the games this dev makes.looking forward to his next game.10/10
Another extremely goofy game from MyGrandfather Games with godly voice acting. Great dance moves from Gordy.
GORDY
Yet another MGG goofy title except this time, you are an hermit, hiding/living in the woods and you get to meet strange characters yet again! No technical issues nor bugs encountered. UltraWide monitor proper support as well. So far, this one is my least favorite one from the MGG collection. The areas are way too big to wander around with the repetitive hunting objectives. I didn't found it funny too compared to previous MGG games. If you already have MGG collection, you might as well give it a shot since theses games are very short and can be entertaining too but, you wouldn't miss much if you skip this one! Maybe watch a playthrough on YouTube!
Pretty lazy and boring compared to the other games. :(
Not their best work. I still look forward to any future projects from this dev, but this one did not hit the mark.

Great game! It fits in line with all the other quirky horror games. Great work as always and thanks for the copy. NXP Play
A fun short comedy horror, not as fun as the last few games released by MGM in my opinion but, I still had a good time. Gordy pmo with his hate for sleep overs, I've only played through one ending at the moment but will be revisiting for the other.
