I'm totally here for the rise of cozy horror simulation games, but this one just doesn't hit 'the sweet spot.' The visuals are stunning and managing the ice cream store feels alright; the food looks delicious! However, it really lacks a meaningful story and doesn't quite deliver on the horror elements. It will probably be somewhat scary to players who are newer to the genre. These kinds of games usually play mind games with you, using atmosphere and SFX to make you your own worst enemy. But for horror veterans, the jump scares here feel a bit cheap. There are definitely better cozy food horror options out there. I also felt like the ending took heavy inspiration from the last day in 'The Boba Teashop' .. it just didn't feel entirely original, nor surprising. You can tell the developers had their hearts in the right place, but the execution is lacking. Outside of Story Mode, you get Endless and Relax Mode. Endless has you filling orders non-stop on a timer, and Relax is exactly that, minus the clock. It would have been way cooler if we got a sort of 'Endless Career Mode' where you could upgrade your shop over time, because the foundation for it is definitely there.
Game is as short and "sweet" as it says. There's 2 endless modes to play where you serve customers (one timed and other is not) . I felt like there could have been more with the story and just a bunch of stuff mentioned in the game but not followed up on or explained all that well. The game was very quiet and the scares were very generic. It's a solid experience but not going to recommend you buy it for the asking 6+ dollars. There's plenty of other games you can get more time with for that amount. Its not a bad game its just a game... I just felt like there should have been more and it left a bad taste in my mouth. And the endless modes are cool but will get extremely monotonous fast.
A cheap copy of cheap copies, we are so diluted at this point that it's embarrassing. This game sucks real bad.
If you enjoyed games like KIOSK, then The Sweet Spot is definitely worth checking out. It has its own twist by putting you in charge of an ice cream shop while delivering a similar style of suspense and jump scares. Pros: Easy to pick up and play. Great atmosphere, including dynamic weather. Fun jump scares with strong KIOSK vibes. Includes an Endless Mode for replayability. Nice variety of equipment and menu items, including a coffee maker, milkshakes, soft serve cones, and regular ice cream served in cups. Cons: The story lacks depth and feels underdeveloped. Could use more jump scares and overall horror elements. Very short experience (around 35 minutes or less). Overall, I recommend The Sweet Spot if you're a fan of short indie horror games like KIOSK or enjoy trying to beat your high score in Endless Mode. However, if you're looking for a strong, story-driven horror experience, this one may leave you wanting more.
I don't know, I feel like nothing spooky really happened for most of the game. There were like 3 random cheap jump scares, nothing was really tied into an overarching story, and I was just underwhelmed by it. This could've been a lot more interesting than it ended up being.
Just a chill game, has like 2 jump scares and is very short. Honestly feel like $6 is to much for this game but it was a good game to calm me down from Elden Ring
I'm genuinely so sad that this game ended up being something I don't recommend. The game is exactly what was expected graphics wise, with the story line close to what was expected in some ways. However at the end of the day it's an exact rip off from Boba tea shop, with no real explanation on why it went the direction it does. It has a mild hint of difference, but at the end of the day it's not really a strong one (in Boba they at least explain why she's going crazy, in this one, they never really do.) Additionally, when attempting to play the story mode again to get the rest of the achievements the entire game broke so bad I had to reinstall it, and it still wouldn't fix itself. So word of warning to anyone playing, do not leave the bathroom door open on the first night. The lady will not at any point get up to go inside like she's supposed to, and thus you'll have no way to leave the store. I hope it gets fixed for whoever else tries to play.
