Fed me necromancer content when The Unliving delayed, but guess what. The Unliving isn't good, so I'm back to playing this since it can actually do power growth correctly. Side note: This has been the most fun necromancy I've experienced in a good while. A shame the color pallet burns my eyes and the other pallets don't look too great (To me at least.)
I lived out all of my dreams of digging up corpses and over throwing the patriarchy IN ONE GAME. Those were my only two dreams. I don't know what to do now.
A wonderful little game with charm and style and a sense of comedy. My only gripe with it is that the undeads pathfinding is a bit wonky. But everything else is absolutely wonderful.

Chad necromancer skeletonizes everyone. Destroys kingdom in revenge. You command a horde of undead as a squishy necromancer. Unique horde-commanding and summoning mechanics. Also bone jokes. 9.5/10 definitely worth the money, especially on sale.
TL;DR : This game is an absolute ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ blast with depth, hilarity, and authentic retro gaming that's easy to sink multiple hours into, and just in time for Halloween. So full disclosure: I'm good friends with the developer of this game, and I wanted to take some time to give an honest, accurate review. Gameplay: I got a chance to play this early on and really see the game mature into where it's at right now. I'm a sucker for well-made retro games, and I get that some titles come off like gimmicky one-dimensional cash grabs, but this game ain't it. There's definitely a progression system at an almost RPG level that's natural and doesn't feel tedious. Upgrading your ghouls and spells is SUPER fun, and the fact that the units you possess are varied when you purchase them makes for multiple playthroughs experimenting with different monsters. I also love how it's "play it your way"; don't know if it was intended, but there's certainly no "meta" or "grind" for certain units or equipment. If you genuinely want to use an army of the undead as your means of combat, you can do so just as easy as focusing on upgrading your necromancer with health, speed, and magic buffs. As the levels progress in difficulty, you find ways to adapt and hone in on your playstyle, and to me that's fun. I honestly haven't gotten to the more "extreme" difficulties yet, but I plan on unlocking those in the near future to try them out. Style: I grew up obsessed with art styles of the NES/Genesis/90's Boardwalk Arcade games and whenever it comes to playing modern "retro" low-bit games, I want to play something that's authentic of that era of design, and this game absolutely...friggin...nails it. The characters, the colors, the designs of the villages, castle gates and foliage is pure nostalgia fuel, and it’s really well done. Also, the fact that the dev made all the music that fits the ghoulish aesthetic is amazing. He’s had to endure my blurting out the synth heavy bass lines in Discord many, many times. Also, without spoilers, I can say that there’s parts of this game that are just…really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ funny. Be it interactions with a certain “guy” or in-game descriptions, I can’t help but laugh at some of the ♥♥♥♥ the dev threw in. Criticism: Hey, the non-shilly part. I’ve got a few things that I would like to see improved upon or tweaked that somewhat stuck out for me. One of the unfortunately drawbacks of any pixel game is difficulty discerning certain sprites from one another, so I’ve definitely had my character walk into some fire that I could have sworn was a shrub. Oops. Movement can be at times a little overwhelming with the sheer number of units you have on screen, so corralling them and sending them to a preferred location takes some extra initiative. Combine that with getting swarmed with enemies, and it got frustrating. Seems like that was fixed though, so it shouldn’t be much of an issue. Conclusion: A completely true to the era retro game that’s progressively challenging, fun, and definitely replayable. Now if we could only get more levels…..
Really makes you FEEL like a Necromancer. 9.8 out of 10. It has a little something for everyone. As long as that little something is specifically being turned into skeleton.
Lot of potential, too unpolished. Feedback is necessary. Stats are important, as a dev you should relay this information to the player. - How much health does my crypt have? - How much health do my minions have? - How much damage do the good guys do? - Speed of player is far too slow initially It's fixable, just needs some improvements
Really fun experience--I keep going back to it. A negative point would be that basic tweaks that would help the game be even more enjoyable (decent movement speed, ability to survive a single punch) require upgrades that you probably won't equip for a long time (need to get more minions first). It also badly needs a wave-based survival game mode. Catch: that might already be in the game, because there are two locked options on the main menu. I guess I have to beat the story mode before I can do anything else? Feels a little archaic.
best Necromancer game play I have ever had. must get game!
awesome game and from what i see so far its very replayable but my game crashed after i killed the final boss and i nearly couldnt complete it
