Colourful game with good music and good humor. This is very fun game to put many hours on when you are relaxing. There is also some challenge to game if you want that.
This game is overrated and overpriced. Gameplay is uninteresting and never really changes; the environments are bland and boring; abilities and skills don't seem to have a great deal of impact; the feeling of progress is non-existent, and the graphics are dull to match. If you want titles similar to this but ones far more dynamic and with character you could try: Astro Aqua-Kitty, Cryptark or Pixeljunk Shooter.
Very weak platforming shooter.
No time for a review so I give this game a rank D. Mediocre game - sadly you can forget it.. See my profile for more details about my reviews. Additional notes: on the fence on this one, it is not bad and I could have put a thumbs up, but since it has "Very Positive reviews", my review won't do it much harm but counterbalance it a bit instead, as I reckon this game should get Mixed or Mostly Positive at best... It is a very basic, not super bad but really not good bullet hell roguelite. And that's it, there is really nothing to it. Gets super boring after the half hour. It looks like a gamejam idea, nothing original, really mediocre, like a 5/10.
Nothing special or memorable.
is good, but dying is a really big L
It's a fun game to play
Short review: A solid meh. Not enough to do. Some decent twin stick action. Okay for about 2 hours whether you complete or not. If that sounds okay, then enjoy. Long review: The game is okay. I think the music is the best part. Some of the sound effects are nice too. The controls are responsive and your character feels agile. So why no recommend? The game isn't relentless like Geometry Wars. There is no slower, tactical area clearing like Neon Chrome. There is no puzzling like Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet. After the first 2 hours, the game play gets boring. By that time, I just wanted to get to the end. Once you get weapons that ricochet, the only tactic is to spam fire at the walls. By the later levels, the heavy hitting enemies hide in the walls and jump out as you pass. Enemy detection skills are worthless. (Don't bother to spend money on them.) So by later chapters, the game loop is spam fire to clear out an area. Move on to next, hoping to find a path to a boss fight so I could advance. There is no real incentive to play again after dying. There is nothing that carries over to another play through. Other than different layouts of the levels, there isn't anything more to keep my interest.
RIP Shamus Young. However I feel his kids are desecrating his legacy, so don't buy this.
