After what seems like a dull day of school and track practice, Violet overhears some conversation about some monster sightings. Afterward, her friend Hannah tells Violet to let loose and pay no attention to it – but maybe she should have.

Well, I gave the game a chance, but it just wasn't for me. The visual novel parts are really rough and tropey, and they severely suffer from what I like to call "bubble syndrome": Everything that the protagonists do happens inside a "bubble", and the world outside the "bubble" (i.e. everyone else) doesn't seem to care what happens. It's one of the weakest possible writing styles, either caused by a lack of skills, or used on purpose to shoehorn a nonsensical plot. What's even worse, there isn't any real map exploration or inventory/equipment management. You're simply thrown from one cutscene to another, and sometimes there's a battle inbetween. Since you can't explore and grind on your own, each battle encounter seems to be "tailor-made", but as a consequence, there's really only one way to win these battles. When your party members only have three skills, and one of them is vastly superior, there isn't any strategy involved: Use the superior skill and win - or don't use it and lose. The game would have been better off without the turn-based battles: They add nothing of interest, they're simply bait to lure JRPG players. Here's a simple lesson: If you want to have the best of both worlds, you'll have to offer the best of both worlds first. Keep in mind that I only played the game for an hour, so maybe it gets better or it's different later (probably not, though). If you're looking for a visual novel that's full of Anime tropes and utilizes a real life setting (similar to a Persona-style game with zombies/monsters), you might check the game out. If you associate more with JRPGs than the occasional turn-based battle, though, this game most likely won't satisfy your needs.
Great game for the old school RPG lovers. Proud to present.
