I've played a decent amount of time to finally make a review and share my thoughts. I'll go over the following things. .Quests The quests in the game are simple. Right now they're divided into your mission (main quest) and tasks, which are simple mission. There's 7 traders which offer those missions. Completing said mission grants you Trader Reputation (Basically trader xp), Korunas (money) and sometimes other rewards based on what the trader sells. There's five levels of trader reputation you can gain. Basically the higher the level, the better stuff you can purchase. .Progression The progression is fairly simple. Levelling the traders and finding good loot in raid to use in future raids. As of right now, there isn't really a story to uncover. .Gameplay loop The gameplay loop is very fun and not as repetitive. Every raid has a different experienced. This is based on the things and people you encounter and what you bring into the raid. Bring high-end stuff and you'll find yourself either afraid to lose it, or steam rolling everyone. Bring close to nothing and you'll have more fun scavenging loot and being carefull with what fights you pick. .Gun play The gun play is satisfying. Each weapon is very detailed and reloading is very fleshed out. Shooting weapons doesn't feel clunky and it feels like how a weapon would act irl. .My thoughts I really love Ghosts of Tabor. I like how it plays, the intense moments, and overall everything this game has to offer. There are a few things that stop me from playing time to time. The developers keep pushing out updates whilst the game still need LOADS of polishing. To name a few issues: Your gear not loading correctly, when filling a magazine with the ammo loader it vacuums up ammo for no reason, Armor wanting to float next to you instead of wearing it, laggy areas with the newer maps. So with everything quickly summerized. The game is good. It just needs fixing with bugs.
Half the time the gunplay feels janky as ♥♥♥♥, servers are inconsistent, and it feels like you die to bugs more than actual players. Optimization is horrible unless you have a beast of a PC. AI is dumb as hell one moment, laser accurate the next. VR combat is supposed to be immersive, but it’s clunky and tiring because the core mechanics aren’t consistent. The devs keep saying they're fixing things, but every update seems to break something else. Honestly, this is more of a broken beta than a finished game. If you like rage, wasted time and getting screwed over by bugs then yeah, maybe give it a shot. I think this is the only game that has gotten worse with updates.
nuh uh
Developers, keep up the good work.
cool
I really want to like Ghosts of Tabor, but it is becoming harder to overlook the state of the game. Bugs that have been around for years still remain, while new DLC seems to keep coming out at a steady pace. The game also feels increasingly pay-to-win, with instant unlocks and progression advantages tied to DLC purchases. Cheating also appears to be a serious issue, and the lack of a proper in-game report system is unacceptable. Telling players to report cheaters through Discord is not a real solution. A live-service extraction shooter needs reliable in-game reporting and active moderation. At times, the game feels like it is held together by rushed or poorly maintained code, which would explain why long-standing issues never seem to get properly fixed. Whether that is actually the case or not, the end result is the same: players are left dealing with a messy, frustrating experience. I genuinely hope another developer releases a similar title with better support and polish. Right now, I am just waiting for this game to be abandoned like some of the developers’ previous projects. Please invest in experienced developers and a proper live-service team that can actually fix the bugs, address cheating, and clean up the mess that Ghosts of Tabor has become.
It's pretty fun, i recommend playing it with friends
the game is good and all, but... The pictures you see on the steam page is false! tht is not what the game looks like at all. so, just keep that in mind. it looks alot more depressing. its darker lightning and doesnt even look like a pcvr game. it looks like its standalone
