Geometry Wars™ 3: Dimensions Evolved

The real reason Microsoft has struggled so much after they acquired Activision is their angering of the gaming gods by not immediately putting a developer onto bringing back Geometry Wars.

I'm on the fence and would have given it a Neutral review if I could. The game is great when it works as it is supposed to. However, it has had many technical issues from the start and they haven't been resolved to this day. PROS: [hr] + This game offers a number of game modes, levels and builds (drones & supers). CONS: [hr] - Some of the game modes are too gimmicky for me and they aren't optional in the main section (Adventure). So you have to complete that level in that specific mode in order to access the next level! It would have been nice to be able to select the map & game mode independently. - Frequent enemy spawns near or on top of the player's ship usually results in premature end of game! - The robotic voiceover is barely understandable. - The Settings are quite poor in terms of even the basic options (like the FPS cap or VSYNC). - It sometimes disconnects from the server randomly and I can't even see the leaderboards until I restart the PC. I can't restart my PC everytime this game rejects to connect to running servers! So disappointing that they haven't solved this issue yet! Great music and fun to play. Old school arcade gameplay, yet modernized with awesome graphics. What's there not to love. Totally recommend this game.
