About
7 years after its original release on Steam, Crimzon Clover is back!
The all-new ARRANGE version adds 4 additional modes to the original "Crimzon Clover - World Ignition", which comes with an original system of multi gauge that you charge and spend freely, letting you control how you upgrade your ship.
In Crimzon Clover - World EXplosion, there are 3 difficulties, which let you play any of the 4 game modes.
「NOVICE」:Better if this is your first step into the world of hardcore shmuppage
「ARCADE」:True to the original arcade game
「ARRANGE」:Whole new can of worms with unique mechanics and novel challenges never seen before in the Crimzon Clover saga
◆Original Mode
THE main mode, where you blast your way through stages in search of the last boss. Trigger the BREAK and DOUBLE BREAK mode for a short burst of overpowered destruction.
◆Boost Mode
Boost Mode will adjust the difficulty based on how proficient you are at devastating your enemies. BREAK mode triggers as soon as the gauge is full, and lasts for as long as you can make it. Using a bomb or losing a life ends it.
◆Unlimited Mode
Unlimited turns each stage into an intense battlefield of bullets that only the most hardcore players will be able to survive.
◆Time Attack Mode
Time Attack pits you against the clock as you race to earn the best score possible in about 3 minutes.
★Training Mode
Set up your own scenario using your choice of mode, ship, stage, and freely customize other variables to practice the fight for survival.
Picking up SCORE items will charge your multi-gauge. You can choose freely when to spend it to add power-ups like support pods, speed up, and more. Buy them all to enjoy the ultimate overpowered fighter!
The game modes are also modified as follows
Boost Mode - The longer you hold the BREAK, the more deadly enemies will shoot revenge bullets at you, for a thrilling experience.
Unlimited Mode - Your main shot can destroy some of the enemies' bullets.
The previous released "WORLD IGNITION" DLC "Superplay Strategy Guide" and "Arcade Poster Pack" are included in the game folder by default.

In contention for the best shmup on steam, it's got it all. Great options for beginners with the novice modes, the arrange mode is quite different but serves as a good stepping stone into arcade, which is where you'll spend most of your time. Clearly made by someone who knows the genre inside and out, and although being very difficult it never veers into feeling unfair. 100% recommended.
Feel like I need a cigarette and a nap after each 1CC. Sensory overload in the best way.
i feel like im at a casino
Not sure why I took so long to get into SHMUPS but I am sure glad a decided to start with Crimzon Clover. Great game with several different modes and ships to play with. While you can technically "beat" the game in about 45 min. by credit feeding, however what kept me coming back was chasing my high score to get that new personal best, or trying to get that 1 Credit Clear. What I appreciate about Crimzon Clover is that is has robust training options that let you practice specific stages and bosses. I also enjoyed the graphics and music.
Serious contender to Cave's DoDonPachi series, not better but different. Great game, worth every cent of the 20 bucks. But has some technical issues ...
This review is coming from the perspective of a complete Shmups noob after doing a Novice One Credit Clear (Pay good attention if you have never played a Shmups game like me :D): I always was curious about why people love shoot 'em ups so much, because it looked to me like they are simply filled with some random bullets that cover up the whole screen without any clear way to realistically dodge them. Unless you waste a ton of time learning every bullet pattern, but let me tell you that I was dead WRONG. To start with, my experience with Shoot 'Em Ups was strictly limited to that old "Space Impact" game that came preinstalled on those old Nokia phones. I also played a ton of games that have bullet hell inspired mechanics such as Enter the Gungeon and the Binding of Isaac, both of which I love to death. I am also pretty sure that I played arcade shoot em ups when I was really young but my memory of those days is hazy and I did not go far in those games for sure. So, after a small push from The RNG gamer's videos and hearing a ton of praise from youtubers for this genre I decided to buy Ikaruga because it caught my attention the most. However, I read online that Ikaruga is a HORRIBLE game to start with the Shmups genre. Which finally lead me to research and get Crimzon Clover to try as the first official Shmups game that I ever tried. And after my first 1CC I dropped everything to come and tell you guys how much ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ fun this game is. This game goes from zero to a hundred real quick and it demands 110% from you from start to finish. At start it felt overwhelming and I was second guessing my choice of even trying to play a bullet hell game but I got gud and I started to feel the flow of the game and used the tools that I was provided with their maximum capacity. With the amount of adrenaline that this game offers, you will feel like either winning a jackpot or dodging a fatal car crash and everything in-between. It is really really addictive. All of that is accompanied by a blood pumping soundtrack that is cool AF and alien inspired visuals that will melt your eyes. It feels like walking into a casino while you're high on some cocaine. Overall, as an introduction to Shmups, this game gets an easy 10/10. I will play other Shmups to gain more experience and I will definitely come back to 1CC the arrange mode!
Lowk an overstimulation nightmare visually but when you get past that this is definitely an amazing shmup thats beloved for good reason, I love the 2nd weapon mechanics and the break system is really engaging even from a survival perspective.
If my ADHD could ADHD-gasm, I would still be climaxing right now.
Even as a danmaku fan who normally doesn't mind bombastic visuals, I found CC overstimulating. The big numbers and big tokens and big explosions are so big that they smooth over a lot of the visual identity of the stages, and every playthrough of CC felt more samey than playthroughs of other mechanically-similar shmups. Underneath the flashy bits, I'm still not impressed. The art style of this game just isn't my thing with its grainy spaceship sprites and amorphous alien-ish enemies. I recommend giving the demo a try, first. It's a very good representation of the whole game, and if you want more after the demo, then CC will probably be your cup of tea.
