Genesis Rising

Mostly I'm quite okay with things that have swarms of bugs flying out of every orifice, but not so much with software. There's some decent ideas (and a fantastic/terrible plot) underneath the bugs, but I can't really recommend this. Watch an LP on youtube or something instead.

UPDATE: Jetzt läuft das spiel endlich. Ich hatte alle Anweisungen befolgt, die seit dem release auf steam verfügbar sind. Mit dem guide von "Darkclaw 3050" (hier in den Rezensionen, dem erstellen von 4! leeren ordnern) hab ich ich das spiel ENDLICH zum laufen gebracht. ich hatte über 9 spielstunden herumprobiererei bevor ich das spiel zum laufen gebracht hab. Soweit gefällt mir das spiel sehr gut (nach gut 3 stunden wirklichem spielen). Trotzdem, ein spiel zu veröffentlichen, welches erst verändert werden muss, bevor man es starten kann, und dann auch noch so große Probleme beim einstellen des aspect ratios und auflösung macht? Das ist nicht akzeptabel, daumen runter. OLD REVIEW: Das Tutorial funktioniert, nachdem ich mittels mehrmaligem verstellen der System- Bildschirm-Auflösung und der der Auflösung und Aspect Ratio im spiel endlich das gesamte Spiel auf den Bildschirm bekommen hab. Ich hab 8+h auf diesem Spiel, weil ich immer wieder probiert hab es zum laufen zu bringen. Aber bei der Singleplayer-Mission spawnt kein Schiff (auch nicht das des Players) in der Szene in der man die Altare besucht, d.h. nach der kurzen Einführung. Das spiel ist unspielbar, an alle die unsicher sind, ob sie es kaufen wollen, kauft es nicht!

Don't buy it, it won't start. I get "Cannot obtain procedure: glVertexAttrib2hNV" when I try to get the game to run. I've tried it on Windows 8, Windows 7 and XP.

27/01/2019 THE GAME WORKS - I can confirm the game is playing fine, using a GTX 780M WINDOWS 10. I bought this game because I remember it from years ago. graphics and the controls are outdated yes ofcourse it is an old game, but it is also a game I have enjoyed playing. If you like the idea of space with living gentic ships then you might enjoy this game it isn't like any other games out there currently, and to be honest its a shame. I would say for the price of £5 you cant really go wrong, give it a try you might be surprised.

Just stopped workign one day. No matter what i do. Says my video card is no longer supported....

I don't quite understand the hate. Back in the days this game brought me hours and hours of fun. I really enjoyed it. The idea of biological spaceships and everything.

An OK game delivered in a broken state. WARNING! The steamversion does not save your game which breaks the game because your units dont get carried over to the next mission. There are also many people who report having problems starting the game in the first place. I did not experience that. You can download savegames from the Internet and put them in a "save" folder that you have to create. Then you can play the game more or less in the intended way. The game itself is ok, but i found the UI and controls really lacking in features. Still enjoyed it after I accepted it to be an old game.

This game was OK when it was new. I remember I picked it up back then and got decently far into the campaign. The "living ships" approach is nice, though the ships only move on the X and Y axes. The problem is, after the tutorials, you make a couple of Paragon/Renegade decisions in conversations and then the first map loads. And just the first map. As in, nothing but the first map. Your ship, the one you're in, the one you use to explore the stones in the first map? Not there. NO SHIPS SPAWN. This is apparently a common problem with this old-game port. I've yet to find a fix. Since there's no mid-mission save system, you're up a creek with *just* the paddle and literally no boat. Unplayable! Pity, i always wanted to finish this one, just to see where it landed on an ending.

Tuve la suerte de poder jugarlo cuando fue lanzado, y estaba bien, mejorable pero entretenido por desgracia no lo han mantenido y no es jugable en la actualidad. Por ejemplo en Windows 10 da muchos problemas y es imposible completar la campaña, no pasas ni de la segunda misión... Si sacaran una actualización lo recomendaría, lamentablemente lleva mucho tiempo abandonado por lo que si no tienes pensado instalarlo en Windows 98, ni te molestes en comprarlo porque no podrás jugarlo.
