Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1/day in the week to Aug 14 → 2.71/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,419 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Hangs on enemy turn every time. Update - this had happened only in one mission, and after 10+ restarts, I managed to pass it. Changing to a positive score. This is not a deep game, story is short and is filled with routine repeating missions to make the game longer. However, combat mechanics are not bad, and if you like tactics, think about buying it when there is a discount on it.

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Great game, I wish they would make Gears Tactics 2.
A bi tough in the beginning to get the feeling. but once the graphics were set to ULTRA, it become good graphics and then the gameplay hit me. Now I want to finish it.
Jogo muito bom, e com um nivel de dificuldade excelente.
Первые 10 часов было относительно весело, но постоянно повторяющиеся миссии просто убивают игру. Пройду чисто из принципа, никому не рекомендую.
Gears Tactics Review — A Tactical Evolution Worth Playing Gears Tactics is one of the rare strategy games that doesn’t feel like a design compromise. It takes a well-known action franchise and distills its core identity into a turn-based tactical framework without losing the franchise’s visceral energy. For players who enjoy tactical squad combat with satisfying pacing, solid systems, and character-driven stakes, this game is one of the better implementations of the genre in recent years. Combat That Feels Purposeful At its best, Gears Tactics delivers combat that rewards precision and adaptive thinking. Unlike some tactics games where battles devolve into static positioning exercises, every encounter in Gears Tactics forces meaningful engagement. Enemy placement, mission objectives, and terrain hazards push you to consider how each unit contributes to the squad’s success. Advancing without thought gets punished. Retreating without reason gets punished. The game keeps pressure on you without needing artificial timers. This is tactical design rooted in clarity of function. Cover matters. Angles of fire matter. Abilities matter. And the stakes feel real because the enemies hit hard and you can die just as easily as you kill. That balance—that razor’s edge between victory and failure—is the core appeal here. Pacing That Avoids Tactical Fatigue Many strategy games struggle with pacing. They either rush you through missions too quickly, robbing you of strategy depth, or bog you down in endless actions that feel like filler. Gears Tactics manages pacing well. Missions have clear objectives and aren’t padded with unnecessary steps. Most fights can be resolved in a reasonable timeframe without sacrificing tactical richness. There’s a steady progression of challenge, too. Early missions ease you in, but by mid-game you’re managing enemies with suppression fire, high health, and area threats that punish tunnel vision. The game doesn’t insult your intelligence but also doesn’t overwhelm you without unveiling tools to deal with new threats. That curve is well designed. Class and Resource Systems That Matter A lot of tactics games claim they have meaningful progression, but too often upgrades boil down to raw numbers. Gears Tactics avoids that trap. Each class has distinct roles with clear identities: the versatile Vanguard raining death up close, the Support class enhancing allies and disrupting foes, the Heavy dealing sustained firepower, and the Scout excelling at mobility and critical strikes. As you level up, the choices you make feel impactful. Unlocking new abilities forces you to think about your squad’s composition and your preferred playstyle. Do you build an aggressive team that pushes forward every turn or a more controlled unit that holds chokepoints and punishes overextension? The systems support either path without forcing one “correct” way to play. Resource management between missions also matters. Do you upgrade armor now or save for a better weapon later? Do you craft items that bolster survivability or ones that spike damage? These decisions have weight because the missions require you to use what you’ve built. Narrative That Anchors the Action Some strategy games treat story as an afterthought. Gears Tactics doesn’t reach award-winning narrative heights, but it does a competent job of giving you reasons to care about your squad. The cast is full of personalities that fit the franchise without feeling derivative. There’s tension, humor, and character conflict that isn’t purely mechanical. Dialogue scenes are paced tightly and don’t overstay their welcome. More importantly, the story integrates with combat without being a distraction. You feel like you’re part of a larger cause, not just moving units on a grid. For a tactics game, that sense of narrative investment matters. It elevates the combat because the risks carry emotional context. Technical and Design Strengths On a technical level, Gears Tactics runs well and looks good enough without asking for cutting-edge hardware. Animations are clean; the camera works cooperatively; and the UI presents information clearly. Tactical clarity is paramount in a game like this, and the presentation supports it. You don’t have to wrestle with awkward camera angles or confusing icons to make informed decisions. The audio design also deserves mention. Weapon effects hit with satisfying weight. Enemy cues are distinct enough that you can plan around them. Music intensifies at the right moments without distracting from decision-making. It’s the kind of polish that’s easy to overlook until it’s absent in other titles. Where It Could Improve No game is without flaws. Gears Tactics sometimes leans too heavily on familiar genre tropes. The mission structure, while tight, can feel slightly repetitive after dozens of hours. Escort missions and defense objectives don’t break as much new ground as the core combat loop does. The variety of mission types is acceptable but not exceptional. Enemy diversity improves over time but early portions can feel like fighting the same handful of foes with minor tweaks. Later bosses and unique enemy mechanics spice things up, but more mid-game variety would have strengthened the overall experience. Finally, the narrative, while serviceable, doesn’t deeply explore its characters. The story motivates action effectively, but it doesn’t consistently challenge player expectations or subvert familiar beats from the franchise. Final Assessment Despite these shortcomings, Gears Tactics earns its place as one of the stronger turn-based tactics experiences of its generation. It channels the energy of its parent franchise without compromising tactical depth. Combat is engaging, progression systems are meaningful, and missions are paced to respect both player agency and challenge. For fans of strategy games who want action that feels consequential at every decision point, this title delivers. For players of the Gears franchise curious how its combat ethos translates to tactical play, this is one of the best answers available. It respects both genres and avoids half-measures. In a market crowded with tactics titles that either overcomplicate or underdeliver, Gears Tactics stands out as a focused, effective implementation. It doesn’t revolutionize the genre, but it synthesizes proven design elements into a consistently satisfying whole. For those who care about smart battles, meaningful progression, and a soundtrack that supports rather than overwhelms, it’s well worth your time.
Don't get the hate for this game, its a solid turn based game with some fun mechanics. The shooting feels punchy and killing is satisfying. I feel like this game will get praise in 10-15 years when there's no more games like it.
Xcom meets Gears i think that about sums it up.
The story has been intriguing and the game-play is very enjoyable. Optional mission objectives or restrictions give it that extra difficulty for those that are looking for a challenge. Equipment is versatile and customizable.
