Gearbits is a good game and exceeded my expectations. It is nothing mind-blowing but is competently designed, certainly isn't lazy, and pretty SOULful. It didn't need to have an intro, but it did. It didn't need to have a secret super-robot, but it did. It's a bit short but has decent replay value.
A fun mech game based on the old Armored Cores and definitely worth a playthrough.
Fun little indie mech game.
Great one of the best Games of the Kind.
If i could give this a double thumbs up, I would! I only just finished my first run through of the main campaign, and I've gotta say that the game is spectacular. A lot of similar games including the old Armored Core games, which this draws a lot of inspiration from, fall into a similar formula; About 60-75% of the way through the game you have reached the point where you have become such a well rounded pilot, and can pick the same parts and weapons every time and see your way comfortably through the rest of the game. This isn't a failing obviously, its part of the point of these games, HOWEVER, I was so incredibly surprised and happy to learn that this isn't necessarily the case here. I love the feeling of knowing your robot and equipment inside and out, excelling in using the same equipment you've gotten comfortable with, even if it doesn't have the best stats- this kept me changing robots and equipment to suit each mission type. It seems odd but it was so incredibly satisfying to restart missions and use a different robot and loadout when the one I was most comfortable with wasn't working. It genuinely felt like being an Ace Pilot. My favorite was the Balearica with Beam Rifle, minigun and unguided missiles. I also really enjoy the Regulus. I mixed this up CONSTANTLY throughout my playthrough! I have no complaints. I have no suggestions. This game is damn near perfect. It doesn't need any in-depth customization, it doesn't need a longer story, or voice acting, or literally anything else. I haven't started the DLC but even without it, the game is so tight and charming and perfectly challenging that it blows me away. The difficulty is so well balanced, it makes me wanna cry. These devs deserve all the love and support in the world. I love the art for the character portraits, i love the art direction for the environments and the robots, and I love the referential homages to mecha anime spattered throughout. 10/10. For 10$ its an absolute steal! 15$ with the DLC tacked on is too cheap for this game. You'd be hard pressed to find a better game ESPECIALLY for the price. If this game was 40$ with a 20$ DLC it would be just as worth it. If you are on the fence, I hope this review finds you. I love mecha games, I love mecha anime, and I love this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game!!!!!!!!!
игра хорошая напоминает немного арморд кор, миссии интересные и некоторые из них могут предложить неплохой челендж, сюжет не плох, играть весело не надоедает, жалко что нельзя менять части мехам
