Explore on your own if you dare or play with friends in 4-player same-screen and online co-op. Your friends can become foes as you compete to see who can claim the most kills and the most gold.
Gauntlet’s four classic characters: Warrior, Valkyrie, Elf, and Wizard return but with more distinctive play styles and their own unique skills.
Players can scour the dungeons for gold and loot to unlock mystical Relics that grant the holder deadly new abilities. But beware – if used incorrectly they can be detrimental to your party’s health!
Fiendish traps, monstrous hordes, epic bosses and even your own friends will cause you to die in confounding and extraordinary ways.

This game is garbage in my opinion. The easy difficulty isn't Really easy at all. if you've come from Gauntlet legends or Gauntlet Dark legacy, you might be used to having health to spare. but no. not this time! I didn't make it through the first level without dying.

"Gauntlet shows heroes moving through dungeons while enemies appear and approach on the screen. The player presses buttons to attack, use abilities, and collect items that are visible on the ground. Enemies disappear when they receive enough damage. Health decreases when attacks are received. Gold increases when collected. Doors open after conditions are met. Sometimes a hero spins slightly as if performing a brief thoughtful pirouette before continuing to move through the dungeon as everything remains visible.
Surprisingly fairly active playerbase still. Multiplayer is drop-in/drop-out and it doesn't seem to take long to find a game, at least for campaign. There's only quick matchmaking and no server lobby but I haven't experienced latency issues so far. Campaign appears to be one-shot (i.e., if you're all dead with no revive tokens, the game ends) but you keep your character progression. The gameplay is fairly simple but pretty fun. Some weapon/relic variations for each character that offer a different set of skills and there's also some customizations. They do feel steeply priced especially since gold isn't even shared between players so you'll have to grind a bit to get other options. I do wish the mana accumulation/ultimate skill availability worked differently. Right now, you can only get mana from potions around the map which you'll find to be scarce. There's also no way to revive your teammates manually, dead players have to use revive tokens and additional tokens can only be acquired by killing a number of enemies.

While playing this, I just thought "Boy I'd rather be playing Gauntlet Legend/Dark Legacy" the entire time, it tries to channel classic gauntlet's "Lotsa enemies on screen" mentality; except all of these enemies have way more maneuverability then any of the classic games; on top of the emphasis on co-op (but you're forced to share a screen so the really fast enemies are made even worse to deal with; Attacks have absolutely no weight to them and it uses mouse direction with a slight delay that always seems to make your attacks whiff. This also has none of the charm of something like Legend or Dark Legacy; Skip this; figure out a way to play Legends/ Dark Legacy online with friends
