My issues with this product is that it's it's terrible I'm not saying that as a game I'm saying that as someone trying to play the game because I had to unplug all of my monitors except one reset to my computer three times because before I did that the game would only take me to the title screen it's a hit the spacebar I've been hitting the space bar and it wouldn't do anything and then the game would disappear but the music for the game would still be playing and it kept on playing these annoying trumpets because that's part of the title theme and it kept on triggering my autism which made me more angry I f** hate the trumpets because the game wouldn't continue on and then when I finally got past that and got to the main like gameplay section I couldn't remap the controls in the game or outside of and then for some reason it only takes Xbox controller formats which is stupid because the re-release that this is a port of came out on the PlayStation 3 what the hell I am now just having an autistic meltdown right now....I would recommend just emulating the game that seems a lot easier than buying this port and you can probably remap the controls so they're not GOD AWFUL I did just that and I WAS RIGHT!!!! THIS IS A S##T PORT!!!!
I remember playing this in arcades, and loving it..sadly this port is very...wishy washy. Most of the time i was trying to hit the monsters, and kept pulling up menu's instead. Could of been fun, but ruined by poor keyboard issues.
Highly Recommended. 9/10* Fantastic compilation of both 90's d&d beat em up arcade games(tower of doom and shadow over mystara). the visuals are incredible, the pixel art is great, incredible to see people uploading screenshots with the damn blur filter that makes everything looks like mermelade, i rater use crt royale or similar reshades. the music is meh, the story its also mid but its not a bad thing, is just so old school simple. The gameplay is really good, is a very good beat em up(upt to 4 players) where you're not gonna only button smash, there are a lot of fantasy stuff in it, for example, you must burn trolls after beating them or they will recover themselves, fire does nothing to mud golems, etc. The game has a lot of routes, so you may need to replay it a lot in order to unlock all paths, there is a loot of dungeon crawling, secret rooms and chest looting. It also has a lot of unlockable art, a few cheats, and some challenge modes. The game has achievements and got the game for really cheap on sale so cant complain at all.
街机游戏之神,三国战纪的祖宗
Did I just jump on it because it said D&D and was 80% off? Yes. Did I stick with it till Completion because I needed some fodder for my background YouTube backlog? Oh yes. Did this game grow on me while at it? Actually, yes. Would I play it any more than a single run of each mode if the 2nd answer was a 'no'? Hell no. And so I cannot recommend this and feel good about it. If not my...let's call it affliction, I would drop the game after trying to beat it once and leave on a very sour note. So initially I wasn't having fun and game itself didn't convince me to play it more by itself. I understand it's an arcade machine collection from 1993 and 1996 as tooltips say so but not all old games age well to be fun today. Also doesn't mean the design to jerk you out of coins cannot be considered a flaw these days. It matters little that you got infinity of them if you mostly watch yourself being stunned to death, stuck in a corner or openly witness boss cheating ever harder the less HP it has. Even though technically you cannot lose the road is still too frustrating to truly enjoy it. Sure, Mortal Kombat 1-3 has effectively the same problem. But some games of that era could and did it better, like Metal Slug. Things got smoother after I could grab the Vampirism rule from the vault which heals when doing any kind of damage. With this game felt somewhat balanced but stunlocking or moves capable of one shot were still a thing. After all this time I'm still very uncertain is 1-coin-clear even a concept here. If it is then probably not solo. It has good variety classes, weapons, paths to pick and overall items (although for what they do exactly you require an external guide. While there is a collection menu it won't tell you jack about any item beside its name). You will certainly find something suiting your playstyle the most. I always loved this seemingly arcade machine typical artstyle that can be seen in Mystara - Clearly retro but too detailed and smooth for pixel art but clearly not stylized graphics yet. I wish more games used that. Full run takes between 1h to 1.5h. Full completion requires a guide due to very obscure secrets. Thankfully Steam Community has you covered. You will also require a Controller to spawn in 2nd player to gain at least 1 otherwise unobtainable item from multiplayer vault in act 10. Lastly as I mentioned this is a collection - there are 2 games here, original and sequel. Mystara is the sequel you boot into from the start and this is where you want to be (and will have to due to achievements focused there). Tower of Doom even by comparison to its sequel is just trash. Sure it is 3 years older and worse in every possible way, including the stun-locking department. The bosses there are so bad that it may take multiple revives just to score a hit on them. Vampirism pretty much doesn't help in Tower of Doom. Maybe the rampart crowd control is why people complain about bad input sensitivity. Earlier I would say the problem is definitely there but after all those hours...I feel it's only like that for Magic User? I played mainly on a Keyboard but indeed spells won't go off if an enemy is casting theirs or if you just recovered from a stun/knockdown. So, was it worth the price? - Full? Never. Discounted? I guess, got a decent mileage for a price of a store sandwich. Will I return to it at any point? Eh, very unlikely unless a friend asks. It's probably not as bad as I'm making it out to be but there wasn't a run where something completely infuriating didn't happen or old-game jank didn't get in the way of having fun. As neutral rating doesn't exist I sadly cannot give it. Definitely play it with friends if able.
추억보정으로 샀지만 실로 눈이 썩는 그래픽이다.. 리마스터라도 좀 하지 너무하네 정말. 차라리 에뮬이 나을지도..
Clear thumps in the middle for this. I won't be commenting on the game itself (i have nostalgia for it) but just on this port: The controls with a controller felt quite unresponsive. I have played versions of this game before, that did not have this issue, which is why I assume that it has to do with this port. Graphic options are severly lacking. No windowed mode? No option for resolution? And lastly, i sincerely hope the translation to my language was not done by a human, but with a 20 year old version of google translate. I don't care about that point, but i wanted to mention it for the hilarious results (for example, "hitpoints" ist ranslated to something like "punching points").
¡Turning undead!
As much as I want to leave a glowing review, because the games themselves are good, I played both on arcade cabinets back in the day, but I can't because it's a broken ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess on the Steam release. Controller support is basically nonexistent, even for the "fully supported" (my ass it is.) X-input controllers-of which I tried 3, two were official M$ branded, and even forcing steam input won't fix it. If you're player 1, I hope you like playing a Beat-em-up using a keyboard, and if you want that couch co-op/arcade feel with friends, you can basically go ♥♥♥♥ yourself with this one. Buy it, then legally emulate the classic arcade versions, you'll do far better that way. So ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ disappointed.
Funciona perfecto en mi steam Deck oled Un clásico arcadia Indispensable
