Not recommended, unless you love experimental arcade score chasers. I unlocked all the game modes and made the top 600 on the leaderboards, so I gave it a fair chance and even liked it for a bit. This is an interesting concept for a minimalistic game where you do one thing and you do it well, which I think this game does just that. The drawback for me is that this one thing gets old pretty quick and there isn't enough substance for me to keep going. If you are really curious, then go for it, but don't expect this to keep you interested for more than an hour.

Entertaining game about trying to nearly fill a gauge. My favorite part by far is that this game has an impossible achievement, which prevents you from filling the achievement bar, lust like the bar in the game. I really respect the artistic vision, and am incredibly entertained by the fact that completionist crybabies got really mad at the developer for creating a piece of art that doesn't cater to the very specific way they think games and achievements should work. "I don't try to be a rebel, I just play with your expectations, that's the purpose of making games, pushing and using the rules to bring players to some new places they wouldn't expect." - Étienne Périn

Scoring 1 bouton. Principe ultra simple.

GAUGE is a “minimalistic” game where you basically control one bar with one button. Pressing the button fills the bar, and the closer it is to the top, the higher your score. You lose a life if the bar touches either end. Your lives also act as a score multiplier, so the more lives you have, the higher your score. Of course, it’s a bit more complicated than that. There’s a lot of dizzy effects (avoid this game if you suffer from epilepsy) to disorient you, the bar doesn’t always move at the same pace, and the limits your bar can’t touch move all over the place. To make things harder, you can activate a second bar that you must also control at the same time. While it’s optional, activating it further doubles your score, so it’s a risk/reward mechanic. There’re 4 additional modes to the main one, leaderboards, and achievements. However, one achievement was purposely designed to be unobtainable. There’s no legit way to unlock it, which is insulting in my opinion. Fortunately, you can cheat it if you don’t mind, but avoid this game if you’re a legit achievement hunter, there’s no way to unlock it outside of cheating. The game is cheap and entertaining for some hours, and includes a lot of memes and secrets. But it’s definitely not for everyone.
