If I could, I would refund. So many reasons but I cannot be bothered.
with how the game currently is i would not recommend purchasing gallipoli and would recommend going back to isonzo my main issues with this game come to suppression, weapon sway, aiming, fire rate, and the amount of explosions suppression - i think suppression is just too easy to get and when its combined with the insane weapon sway you just cant aim for ♥♥♥♥ even after only a singular bullet whizzes by you. weapon sway - the weapon sway in this game is insane, whenever im trying to aim without holding my breath for close quarter combat i cant control my gun and keep it in an area i want it to be pointing at aiming - iron sights in this game are just super inaccurate to my experience, half of the shots i fire, even when fired at someone in the open and standing still with my sight placed in the perfect spot to hit them from a normal distance the bullet just wont hit at all, no clue where it even went either and dont call this a skill issue since i was quite the good shot in isonzo fire rate - fire rate on rifles is insanely slow, where in isonzo it felt decently paced where you can actually stand a chance against a group of people coming at you in this game by the time you get your bolt open you'll be executed firing squad style too many explosions, way too many in way too short of a time, cant raid a single objective and aim for ♥♥♥♥ since there are explosions everywhere blocking my sight, suppressing me, deafening me, and just hindering everything and not too long later the same ♥♥♥♥ happens again. the game runs fine and all but until they tweak with this stuff some more i will not recommend it
I have played all the WW1 series games of Blackmill, I even played Verdun when it came out in 2014. I think they changed the game pretty much since Isonzo, I mean, not the same dark/gritty feel of the first one, which also definitely DID NOT have the cinematic feeling from the last 2 games. And I didn't liked that change. However, I bought this game not expecting much and ended up liking it quite a lot more than expected. Feels more like Verdun at times, since it offers some wide and open fronts with trenches, but also some more "urban" combat as in Isonzo (which for me is their new standard). The game is well done, I like the voices (they are better than Isonzo's) and the customization of characters. This is definitely a FUN game. Sure, there were some controversies with the "down" and "heal" system (some say they are imitating it from Battlefield) but for me it's fun. I really liked the game. My veredict is that, sadly, in the future this game will suffer from low player counts. This happens with ALL of their games, and do you know why? because the devs KEEP selling them as separate products. You should merge them all into a single game (maybe separate them by DLC if you want people to still paying for every front?) but if you keep all your games separated, you divide your playerbase and will suffer constantly from low player counts. Just my opinion, but I hope you all LISTEN.
Gotta say, it's definitely the most tense out of all the WW1 games from BlackMill. Gunplay feels great and atmosphere is immersive. Some maps probably need a bit of balancing but otherwhise a straight recommend if you liked the other titles!
A game I really want to like, but just can't Pros: -The Shooting part of the gunplay feels amazing, the weapons feel weighty and satisfying to shoot -The sound design is fantastic as always -the graphics are very good -Single player bot matches, with full progression! Cons: -The UI is just plain bad. You can't tell what teammate is what class, so if you need ammo or health, good luck finding the right guy. what are those dots next to the defender count, What does the water thing do, where are the map borders, i can't see them because they keep blending in with the terrain on the minimap, where am I getting shot from, and so may other questions that remain unanswered -The low health and panic visuals in particular are far to much, some desaturation and vignette is fine, darkening most of the screen into an incomprehensible blur is not. And on Suez, when it happens, it feels like you turned off your monitor with how little you can see -The camera movement Is also far to much from reloading and artillery strikes. in one particular instance, repeatedly reloading on low health while in an artillery strike, I had to Alt+F4 because the movement was to much and was making me nauseous. -On the subject of reloading, many of the reload animations, while incredibly well done, feel far to slow. While I don't want Battlefield or COD speed animations, It also shouldn't take 3 business days to reload a stripper clip or 1911. And the revolvers, god help you poor souls who get stuck using a Webley, I've seen paint dry faster than those things reload. Also, currently the best way to stop an in progress reload is animation cancelling by going prone. Useful with a revolver or rifle, but if you have to take cover while using an lmg, then I hope you enjoy watching the whole animation again -The bots are just so, SO bad. the number of times I have been bleeding out and had a bot start reviving and then stop, turn and stare at an enemy that then proceeds to shoot them are uncountable. Panicked bots instantly go prone every time, even when the shooter is at point blank range, they will crouch walk past enemies, they will almost never give you more ammo, and they will, without fail, place the squad beacon in the dumbest spot possible. Overall, A flawed but decently fun game, but I would recommend you just play Isonzo instead
