«Galaxy Warfighter / Галактический воин»[Casual Scrolling shooter / Shoot’em up]
The game falls flat on everything, i played the first 20 stages and i will say, i'm severely disappointed. there's 4 enemy types, all but one of them are threatening as its the only one able to remotely fire any projectiles once i upgraded firepower once (since it shoots upon appearing on screen where the others need to travel halfway across) they claim they have unpredictable strategies and attack schemes? they have the same ONE ATTACK at least for 20 stages. the bosses? again there's 4 of them and only threatening without any firepower upgrades ... you see where this is going? the only boss that is a remote challenge is the one you have to shoot at more than one target because the others just exist for about 2 seconds after a firepower upgrade, these are claimed to be challenging and ruthless yet i found them to just be a slightly more durable normal enemy that can actually attack, one of the bosses EVEN DIES BEFORE IT CAN ATTACK. the backgrounds and music are really bland and uninteresting, its the same one song. In fact all of this combined all just blends together to make rather boring, bland and uninteresting levels that do tend to just drag on. they also have these coins you get for upgrades, not like any of them actually matter aside boosting firepower since one upgrade there basically renders most of the enemies ineffectual. the only thing that's somewhat decent about this game is the art and even that feels like its lifted from something as well... EDIT: Having beaten 100 stages (at 107 of this edit and with every achievement done thats where its staying) i can safely say it does get a bit better, but it still isn't enough to warrant a recommendation, there are some more enemies and they do get more health but by the end of it its not their bullets that are the problem, its the sheer quantity themselves that make trying to progress more luck based on what powerups were dropped, the bosses still remained as trivial but got more health as well, none of the enemy attacks get changed up at all, each enemy type does the same one attack, in the same one method. i just cannot honestly recommend this.
Severely lacking content. After four levels I had probably seen everything the game has to offer as I played 20 mission and saw nothing that I had not seen on the first 4. Literally the only thing changing is the amount of health the enemies have. Gameplay is kinda ok, if not very lazy and without any soul. Can't recommend this one and decided to refund.
Everything works and the game is kind of fun! Now for the bad: The music is one song on a loop. There are 4 enemy types. That's it. Once you have beaten the first 4 levels, you have essentially seen every part of this game. Play Steredenn instead. https://youtu.be/tzBN-xo7tjA
Gets booring same enemies all time
First off, I received this game for free and at first glance it looked intriguing - a retro style 16 bit shoot 'em up in the vein of R-Type or Gradius. Well, that's about as much as this game has in common with those classics. Let's start with pretty much the only positive thing: It controls fairly well. Even though you can't use the Dpad it's still responsive enough to get you through the levels. Which brings me to the negative: There's 100 levels in the game which sounds like a lot but given the fact that there's about 8 different enemy types, 4 bosses, 1 additional gun and 4 pick ups throughout the entirety (!) of the game it's clear that it severly lacks content. It would be ok if the game consisted of 20 levels but with that limited amount of content it's stretched far too much. After approx. 10 levels you've seen pretty much everything the game has to offer. Most of the enemies don't even stand a chance thanks to the rapid - and I literally mean rapid - autofire. It's nice to have it since that eases pressure on the thumbs but it'd also be nice to have an option to turn it off. Same goes for the bosses of which as I mentioned there's only 4 of them in the game so they naturally repeat a lot. 3 of them barely survive even without the player being upgraded, one takes a bit more effort but after having it killed like 2 times the pattern doesn't change and it also won't be a problem. I've played through the entirety of the 100 levels and I couldn't get all upgrades. Not willing to spend more time and grind, it's not worth it. In the last 3rd of the game the difficulty is raised by the cheapest method - cluttering the screen with enemies and even giving them more health which makes some parts unneccessarily tedious. On top of everything else there's exactly 2 songs in the game. One in the menu, one in the levels that plays throughout. At some point I had to turn it off as it started to grind because it's not even good music. To sum it up: Sometimes less is more and I think less levels would have helped the enjoyment factor of this game. Or simply more varied content. I can't recommend this game as of right now, maybe it'll get an update in the future.
I don't know, this game feel's like it needs more polish... They way you have to buy upgrades and not just collect or upgrade while you are going through level's just seems kinda off. The enemies seem to be very bland as well. I know I went through a lot of stages, and felt like they never really changed at all, and ran into most bosses at least 6 times out of ten missions. Doesn't have enough variety to keep me wanting to grind it out. The stages didn't seem to differ much at all either if I recall it. If we can get more enemies and a better power up system then this might stand out on its on.
Recomendado. Galaxy Warfighter was good for about an hour of play, but to just got too repetitive after that. I kept going through mission after mission hoping for a new boss or an enemy that would keep things fresh, but that hope faded as I kept flying the same missions for what felt like endless waves. A fantastic shoot 'em up of a cutting edge that took me back on a journey through the heroic days of R-Type. Upgrading my starship's systems pushed me to crash endless waves of enemies, feeling like a pilot from the Battlestar Galactica raptors. A little more variety in enemies and bosses would not hurt of course :) You can check my video for the game here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C5jgQ4rumg
