Syder Reloaded

It finally arrived... I'd given up hope on this game being released, but here were are, I am now ancient. I originally played this version of the game on the Switch but couldn't enjoy it due to less than ideal frame rates. It's now here, on PC, plays like a dream. I love the original Syder Arcade and this one can be seen as a similar but also different game. Much more refined and readable (bullets etc) and the scoring has been changed about. I can see me putting some time into this, the Survival mode is where the game shines. Also works great on the Steam Deck by forcing compatibility to use the Proton Hotfix.

Syder Reloaded est un hommage aux shoot them up des années 90. Il est très fluide, avec un style graphique inspiré des meilleurs Smups de l'Amiga. L'ambiance sonore est aussi très réussie avec les voix digitalisées de l'époque et une musique qui ravira les nostalgiques de cette période. Mais ce qui fait qu'on a envie de passer du temps et de revenir sur ce type de jeu c'est le dosage de la difficulté. C'est là que brille ce jeu : il faudra s'arracher pour arriver à finir les niveaux, puis passer dans des modes de difficulté plus élevée pour arriver à faire des scores sympas et débloquer les succès. Par contre, comme il s'agit d'une version légèrement améliorée de Syder Arcade, ceux qui ont déjà poncé le premier vont avoir l'impression de racheter le même jeu. Seules les 3 variantes des vaisseaux originaux introduisent un peu de nouveauté. Mais pour ceux qui n'ont pas fait Syder Arcade, c'est vraiment un jeu que je recommande !

I gave up on this a while back after it sat dead on my wishlist for a long time then saw it in my cart and picked it up. First up, big props to the devs for making a bundle to give us Syder Arcade owners a nice discount on this one (other certain devs can learn from this). So far it's mostly the same game but looks and plays well, hopefully it will become the complete package the original didn't quite get to. Thumbs up just for the initial bundle discount as a Syder Arcade owner. That's great business and a way to do right by your fans (although the full non-bundle price is still very fair)

Pros :- Smoother Graphics, Better Resolution, Pretty Same As The Original. Cons :- Can't rebind keys (lost counts how many times i keep accidentally flipping my ship instead of using special) (original had it better, space for flip, z for special, x for fire, this has z for special, x for flip, c for fire), STILL... has no option to v-sync (original would get fps going to 500+, now with me having a much better GPU i'm getting 1500+,,, this is causing my GPU to get hot enough i would not be surprised if i could cook an egg on it)... Problems / Issues Forced V-sync via NVIDIA control panel - Causes the game to totally freeze for a second when you have a large amount of enemies and bullets flying, current solution to get around that,,, while still being able to not turn your GPU into a slow cooker is to instead leave v-sync turned off in NVIDIA control panel, and instead setting a max frame-rate limit that you feel comfortable with (i personally set it to 200 which up to now is more then enough for my 165hz monitor, doesn't cause the game to freeze, and keeps my GPU from getting hot). ----- Finishing options :- While I'll happily support Studio Evil thanks to the countless hours of fun I've had with Syder Arcade so i'm fine with the original and reloaded, i find myself having MUCH more fun with the original, until v-sync and rebinds get added i personally will stick with the original for ease, (considering how long its been since we FIRST asked for v-sync... and the dev's saying they'd add it,,,, and it still not being added i cant see that one happening, so if rebinds get added at LEAST that will be one)

The best Shmup from the last decade is back, faster nicer - reloaded. if you own syder arcade allready be sure to get the bundle with 60% discount for owner of syder arcade- worth every penny ! bella italia

It's just the original Syder, but on steroids. Improved graphics and mechanics, good music, lots of ships to choose from, and smooth controls. Definitely worth checking out, especially for shmup fans.

Хорошая игра..... Но в настройках графики, нельзя включить вертикальную синхронизацию. Это не хорошо..... Очень нужна эта настройка!!!!!

When the original came out I was playing it in high school. Now I have a mortgage. It's what you've waited for.

6/10 It's okay, well made but very short and there isn't much impetus to complete it with all the different ships. Decent graphics, music and sound though.
