Over 1000 unique components allow you to build and command voxel vehicles from the deep ocean to outer space! Forge strategies, allegiances and fleets strong enough to destroy eight deadly factions of the planet and reign supreme. A genre-defying mashup of simulation, building, RTS and RPG.

learning curve like a brick wall; you die again and again until you get an engineering degree Very fun and certainly one of those games to always come back to, just the Multiplayer and some of the UI could use some touchups. 10/10 would learn to engineering again.

From The Depths has been an important game to me, before even my hours on this account I would play on my mothers desktop surmounting over 500 hours untop of how many I have now; and before that I would watch people play the game as it had just come onto youtube. To this day I still will continue to chase what had brought me to this game, and in truth it is no longer here. Even if nostalgia glazes the eyes of any man I cannot claim in good faith that the changes made in the last 4 years have been a net benefit - always 1 step forward, 2 steps back. When they removed the different types of resources I understood because it was unbalanced, when they added new music that hurt my ears, or new graphics that make me squint, or a menu that was nothing like the game at all, and throughout the million and one ui changes I stayed, but in truth there is no part of me left that enjoys the newer builds. What made this game what it was, the spirit and emotion has been left in the hands of someone who is tired. If not directionless. For now I hope people may find a semblance of joy in new builds or primarily old, but for now I can no longer recommend this game.
Having already put over 200 hours into this game, I can say with certainty that it would be easier to study aeronautical engineering for five years and build my own plane than to understand how to make things fly straight in this game.

learning this game is hell incarnate, but it will entertain the autistic and occupy the unemployed
When going into this game, I will say there is a massive learning curve. I recommend joining the discord, and if you really need them, tutorials. Because if you go in blind, it'll take you awhile to get better and better unless you know what you're doing from previous voxel sandbox games, and even then theres mechanics that you'll need to grasp. Its like going from a child to a expert marine engineer, expect to be really confused. But the game after that is wonderful, because it gives you alot of freedoms and doesn't bar most of them, and I haven't encountered any bugs that were gamebreaking or even minor, as I'm pretty sure this game is well tested when it comes to bugs. The gameplay can be really fun in a multiplayer campaign, and the design process is a fun challenge to do when making new vehicles. 9/10, would recommend for those who have alot of time on their hands. (Forgot to mention there's a relatively active community of modders and things being uploaded to the workshop, so that's nice.)
Believe it or not, there are boats in this game. Now, I don't have any idea how to build them, but they are there.
Hundreds of hours played, and still got obliterated by the easiest faction in the game in the easiest difficulty is an experience one must experience themselves.
An unpolished gem—or rather, a rough chunk of rock with a gem hidden somewhere inside. I love the concept, but the game today feels just as clunky as it did years ago, and it's not going to change. The main culprit is the building system. Shaping anything more complex than a brick is a chore. Assembling subsystems from simple parts sounds fun until you realize there are like two viable ways to do it. The usual gameplay loop goes like this: design a vehicle, spend a couple of hours building it, realize it's not good at its job, then scrap it. Rinse and repeat until you've wasted your entire evening and have nothing to show for it, because most of your time was spent mindlessly placing blocks.
