I thought this might be interesting and a good time killer. It was more than that. It is challenging enough to keep you thinking. You can take any direction to building you want. I have started 6 games because I keep wanting to try different things and starting a new game and implementing my different idea makes more sense than just changing directions. I recommend this game to someone who likes building games.
i bought this game, because i'm a huge satisfactory fan, i have played less than an hour, why you ask? look at who the publisher is, they have this uncanny knack of ruining everything they touch, and they've just done it again to another franchise, foundry you didnt need pdx interactive, it's 2026, you could have self published, for this reason alone, i'm downvoting this game, and will never play again.

I can see the potential in this game but there is a lot of small things that made me stop wanting to play the game. A lot of the controls in this game does not really work well. The movement feels clunky with you for some reason only able to jump, one block up at a time. And with gravity feeling way too strong. It makes me feel discouraged to take advantage of the 3 dimensional space the game gives us. The jetpack helped but I found myself sometimes being flung in all different directions. As it is really hard to understand the size of the character and grazing a wall halts all movement in a particular direction. The building in this game looks like you can create a lot of detail in your builds. Allowing for a custom experience personised to yourself. However like before, I found myself battling the controls trying to get my desired outcome. During my time I had to rotate a conveyor, which required me to disassemble that item and place it back. That caused me to pick up the item on that conveyor, cluttering my inventory. The square hitboxes the buildings have do not help. I try to build something in my line of sight but because it touches an invisible hitbox. I can't build there and have to manuever around it. Some other small issues I have were The loaders blocks the view of the items on the conveyor. Why aren't long loaders packed in with short loaders. The dialolgue got in the way of gameplay I think the game is in need of major improvement. And I frankly wish they remove the AI. No one wanted that. I also wish I could refund but unfortunately I went over the max time limit of refunding.
This is an amazing game, and has the potential to be one of the better factory/automation games. BUT WHERE ARE THE BLUEPRINTS???
I was really getting into the game and then noticed the nodes are not infinite and got huge turnoff. Please give us option to make nodes infinite. I do not want to make 1000m long conveyor belt every time node goes out.
Foundry is a mashup of satisfactory and factorio. It;s gris based like factorio and 3d like satisfactory, but it lacks the polish of either game. It is not as pretty as satisfactory, the map is proceduraly generated and so the exploration feels meh after the first little bit. It doesn;t have the same depth and support for megabases as factorio does. There is more story than in factorio but it;s less engaging than the story in satisfactory. But the main problem is that the UX lacks polish, and I am struggeling to pinpoint a single thing to fix and maybe after a few more hundered hours it will resolve itself. This is not a bad entry in the factory game genre, but satisfactory and factorio are just plain better. If you enjoyed those two maybe give this a try.
May 24, 2024 is when I purchased my copy of Foundry. Initially, I played it for a little while until I accidentally blew my base up with the placement of the Emergency Beacon. That ruined it for me! And I uninstalled the game, never to play it again until I had all but forgotten why I quit playing it in the first place. Fast forward to June something, 2026. Here I was desperately wanting/needing something to play and Foundry was there, waiting... Without spoiling it for you, I must say that I can't believe I've had this game in my Steam Library for 2 whole years before ever actually giving it a solid chance to be the total blockbuster that it truly is...
Wozu? Schade.
Very enjoyable facotory building game. What sets it apart from the others is having to manage the galactic trading, upgrading your space station and also balancing your money as it is also a resource you use to build products with.
I really hate this game! Year, let's install another launcher to start this game because Steam can't do that, I guess!!! Why even make a tutorial if your only hint is:"Press F2 and read everything for yourself"? The controls are so terrible!!! Yet another game that has this distinctive "amateurs want to make a video game but are completely incompetent" feeling!
