About
FOUNDRY is a first-person (first-robot?) factory builder with complete creative freedom set in a procedurally generated and infinite voxel world.
Land on an unexplored planet and design a giant automated robot production facility under the watchful direction of your AI friend, Carl. Navigate the complexities of interstellar trade and sell your products through interplanetary trade networks to reach your final goal: galactic industrial domination.

Progress from manual resource extraction to a fully automated and perfectly optimized factory.
Construct towering machinery and snaking networks of conveyor belts and pipes with no limits on where you build.
Explore a vibrant voxel world and sculpt the landscape block by block.
Research new, more advanced technologies to meet the demands of your ever-growing production lines.
Personalize your creation by unlocking decorative items and new color options.
Maintain a complex power system to keep your factory running at top speed.
Work solo or recruit outside contractors in online or LAN co-op multiplayer.
Create an enormous factory complex stretching from deep underground to the planet’s surface and the skies above.

Create a mechanically magnificent factory and a work of industrial art integrating your creation into the environment around you. Set up your machines far below the surface, high in the sky and everywhere in between. Grid-based construction gives you precise control over where and what you build.
Land on an unexplored planet and explore a procedurally generated sandbox. Journey through dense jungles, gigantic mountain ranges, and great plains stretching into the horizon, with even more to discover beneath the surface.

Design intricate systems of conveyor belts, long-distance transport networks, pipes and elevators from deep underground to automate your research. Unlock more advanced, complex and faster technology to optimize your factory and maximize production.
You’ll start by crafting items and harvesting resources manually but will soon find yourself setting up assembly lines piece by piece to devise a system that flows perfectly. Combine form, fit and function to create a smooth setup that effortlessly transforms raw materials into galaxy-grade robot products without you lifting a metallic finger.

Bottlenecks are your enemies. Remember to maintain a delicate balance between inputs and outputs so that productivity reaches its maximum potential, enabling you to progress through an extensive research tree.
Ensure that manufacturing runs at full speed. Keep your power supply well-fed and, as your factory expands, unlock upgraded machinery, advanced power generators and new customization options that will add efficiency and a splash of color to your production lines.
Work solo or collaborate in co-op and engineer creative solutions to complex logistical challenges in a vast voxel world.

I hate carl bot Don't put an LLMTTS-oid into a game and call it ai Get a writer and a VA and I'll turn this thumb upside down
This type of game lives or dies by how good it feels to lay down a bunch of buildings and conveyer belts. Satisfactory nailed this in 3d by just letting you drag connections from one building to another. This game thinks it's a 2d game, a perspective wherein it's easy to align buildings, belts, loaders etc... Unfortunately, Factorio's setup just does not work in 3D. Aligning everything is pure tedium and that's before we get into how much of a pain verticality and changing conveyer belt elevation is. Just let me drag from point a to point b, even across elevations, and figure out the intervening belts. Also a bit disappointing that the world appears to be procedurally generated. One of the things that justified the inconveniences of 3D in satisfactory was the gorgeous, interesting to explore, hand-crafted map. This minecraft-but-prettier world just feels skin-deep and hollow. Finally, dear God, include an always sprint or at least sprint toggle button. There is zero reason to make people hold down an extra key. It's an accessibility thing for all of us older gamers that are constantly on the verge of a RSI.

I cannot recommend in its current state nor intended direction. Current state: this factory game does offer a new spin with the galactic market and infinite voxel based worlds. However, the actual factory portion of the game is very shallow. The tutorial is patronizing and the start is slow. There are not that many unique technologies nor products to produce. Loaders (inserters) and belts are not flexible. Many animations are stiff and there is no soundtrack. This game seems more geared towards younger or inexperienced gamers who want an easier introduction to the factory game genre, as the game just offers increasing tedium rather than exciting logistical challenges. Current Direction: Updates are polished, but are slow and hyper-focused. It is uncertain if this game will ever bloom into its full potential before funding or interest dries up. It's not ambitious, nor does it learn from its peers. And with how heavy handed the current design is, I don't see it getting pushed in new directions outside of expanding the galactic market (Excel simulator) and the addition of trains. This game needs to lean into it's biggest strength: map generation. Filling the world with interesting and rewarding locations would go such a long way.
Feels like a worse version of Satisfactory at first, but it does get better and differentiate itself a bit once you get a few research tiers in. Judging just the factory building elements, it ticks all the boxes in a satisfactory way. I'll likely continue playing it. I wish the world was more interesting, though. There are no POIs, at least that I've found. The ores near your starting location will last you for several research tiers, so there's not much encouraging you to leave your little bubble. Exploration is very lackluster. Hopefully that is something that is on the roadmap.
Paradox launcher? I never asked for this.
Friend and I started world. Stripped a planet of its natural resources. Traded with other stars. Cornered the galactic market and became a monopoly. Forcefully took over the universe. Then went back to spawn to enjoy the sunset. 10/10 would recommend
Lacks purpose or reason to do anything other than going through the steps, there's not even anything to find from exploring. The procedural generated world and game is empty and you just sit around in your factory waiting for research to complete which takes increasingly longer as the requirements scale up, even with increasing production where the numbers don't even match.
