About
If you’ve played traditional football managers, you’re probably familiar with the following feelings:
Complex attributes: Footballers have many attributes, and you don’t always understand which ones truly affect the match outcome. Often, the only strategy becomes buying high-level players instead of finding a footballer whose unique attribute perfectly suits your tactics.
Unclear results: You never really know why you win or lose. This forces players to search for "winning" formations on forums instead of analysing the opponent and consciously selecting footballers capable of exploiting their weaknesses.
Financial complexity: Club funds quickly disappear, and it’s hard to understand how to manage finances and strategically plan expenditures.
Football, Tactics & Glory is a game about full control and a complete understanding of what’s happening on the pitch and in the club:
Transparency of attributes: You always know exactly how each footballer’s attribute impacts the encounters, allowing you to customise formations for each opponent, defeating even stronger teams with the right player selection and tactical approach. This also makes transfers much more interesting and exciting.
Control over tactics: Feel like a real coach, making smart tactical decisions, not just changing formations hoping for luck.
Control over luck: Luck plays a big role, as in real football. But you can minimise its impact by understanding your players’ abilities and building the team around your playstyle.
Strategic financial planning: The game’s economy is designed so that you always feel in control of your finances. The game demonstrates the importance of strategies like "developing" footballers for sale and finding promising talents who will become your future stars.
No micromanagement: This is a game about strategic planning, not micromanagement. Instead of wasting time on increasing an attribute by 0.01%, you make decisions that significantly affect the club’s fate. Therefore, the game lacks the boring elements of football managers: endless spreadsheets, routine tasks, and unimportant mechanics.
Great variety: FTG is so deep that even after hundreds of hours, you’ll continue discovering new and interesting things. The game world develops uniquely each time, creating new challenges and exciting emergent stories. This makes each campaign different from the last one.
The game values your time: You can complete one football season in a few real hours instead of days, as in other football managers. At the same time, each season is packed with events and interesting decisions.
Comprehensive tutorial: The game explains all elements in detail. And if you still have questions, the active community will answer them on the forum or Discord.
Good turn-based mechanics allow complex systems to be simplified, while retaining their essence and emotions. For example, XCOM perfectly conveys the feel of firefights with aliens, and Civilization — the development of a civilisation.
Our turn-based system uses key football concepts to make match outcomes and your tactical decisions clear and transparent. Once you understand how these mechanics work, you’ll feel the emotions inherent in real football.
Additionally, the ability to take your time with each move allows for comfortable gameplay. Especially if you’re over 40 and don’t have the reaction speed you once had.
Yes, it’s a serious football manager that’s easy to start playing due to its apparent simplicity, but hard to stop because of the depth of its features.
Take your club to the top: Start in the lower league and lead your club to the heights of world football. Or choose any club in the Premier League or another league of your choice.
Create your own leagues and clubs: With the built-in editor, you can create real clubs and leagues.
Use modifications: Take advantage of numerous mods created by the player community.
Dynamic game world: Other clubs buy and sell players, train them, and develop youth — the game world lives and evolves with you.
Promotion and relegation system: Each country has a Premier League and several lower leagues. Teams are promoted or relegated between leagues depending on their final position. Top teams from different countries participate in continental tournaments similar to the Champions League and Europa League.
Club development: Improve infrastructure, hire coaches, and develop your Youth Academy.
Unique players: A powerful face generation system makes each footballer unique. The face editor is also available for you.
Online matches: Play a friendly match with a friend online.
Co-op play: Create a tournament and play a season with friends on one computer (or online via Remote Play Together). Up to 32 people can participate in the tournament.
Twitch integration: Viewers can interact with the game via chat.

Back then I played the vanilla game when it released for 100 hours and recently came back and bought every DLC and played it again for 100 hours. It's a super fun mix between managment and tactical gameplay which is easy enough to understand on a surface level but still has great depth. I really recommend this game if you like both managament and x-com esque gameplay and if you enjoy football in general then it's even better. I'm hyped for the successor of this game :)
Speaking as a gamer and not a football fan, this is one of the best turn-based-tactics games I've ever played. Considering it's an under-served genre, if you're a fan of turn-based strategy, and you at least don't loathe the idea of managing a football team, you owe it to yourself to try this game. The management layer is streamlined compared to something like Football Manager, but it's still surprisingly robust. It's a lot of fun to train, recruit, and level up a squad of players into a solid team. And the added challenge of having to deal with the requirements of league football adds a lot of intrigue that other turn-based strategy games lack. For example, in something like Battle Brothers, you can reach a point with a squad where you can't really get any stronger. The game becomes routine and the challenges aren't that interesting anymore. In contrast, in FTG, even if you have a few star players, you're always balancing their increasing value against the needs of your team, as well as their advancing age. While in the lower leagues, you can't ever get too attached to a single player. If you get an offer to sell them for a third of what your entire team is worth, you probably have to take that offer, invest the money into the club, and figure out how to plug the hole they leave. It's a fun push-and-pull that's unique to the world of managing a football team. And it eliminates a lot of the nonsense and fluff that I find so frustrating in a game like Football Manager. No more press-conferences or disgruntled players because I chose the wrong dialouge option! But beyond the management layer, the tactics on the pitch are also great. If you read some of the negative reviews of the game, you'll see a lot of complaining about RNG, but that's pretty standard for this sort of game. I wouldn't say that the RNG in FTG is any more egregious than in a game like Xcom. The challenge is learning to mitigate the potential for a bad outcome through strategy and planning. And the game offers you plenty of options, through formations, player positions, and player skills, to attack each match in a variety of interesting ways. Personally, I think the game is more fun when you turn up the difficulty. It's a little too easy to cheese the opponent formations and AI if you can see their plan ahead of time. I also very much like that each match only takes 5-10 minutes to play (at the default settings). This allows you to get deep into a campaign relatively quickly, which is where the really interesting decisions start appear to when managing your club. However, while the game is clearly a labor of love, it's also obviously a budget title. The level of detail in the stadiums around the pitch is quite disappointing. They are completely static and have very little variety. There's not much sound within each match beside some players grunting and the whistle now and then. The game does very little in the way of match-day presentation to make it feel like a TV broadcast. If you're not completely hooked by the management and tactics, and you need some eye-candy to your games, you might be turned off by FTG's bare-bones offering in that department. Here's hoping that FTG2 can flesh these parts of the game out to make it feel like a more complete package. That caveat aside, however, I adore this game, and I'm eagerly anticipating the sequel.
GOAL!
游戏还可以,但是这无限闪退真结束不了,DLC全买了闪退更严重
I love this game. In many sports management games you subsitiute guys in based off numbers and hope it works out, unsure how much of an impact it really ever had, in this game the skills make each player feel unique and can warp your entire gameplan. Trying to predict if a new signing is worth it or selling one of your most reliable guys are very intense moments. The early game is slow when no one has any skills and can't shoot or pass but it becomes addicting once it clicks. One more game turns into one more season and before long the sun has set. RNG can be very frustrating, the greatest player in the world can roll 1 on a 1000 sided dice and fail to score against a blind toddler who rolled 2 out of 2, I suggest using one of the alternate RNG modes before starting a campaign.

I found this game on a Reddit thread recommending good steam deck games that AREN’T rogue likes. Was surprised it was the top response, considering it was soccer manager, and was intrigued by the turn based gameplay. Figured why not and bought it for like $20. Immediately enjoyed it and bought the accompanying DLCs since they improve gameplay. This game has easily become one of my favorites of all time and I recommend it for anyone who looks management sims or sports games, in general. The turn based gameplay is a nice change up for me in sports games and I love the management aspect. I started with a created club in the lowest levels of English football and am finally up in premier league. The road has been a satisfying one as I had absolutely zero clue how to play when I first started. Now that I’m further along and better understand my own play style, as well as how to counteract skills/formations for other teams, I absolutely love this game. Taking flyers on good young players and watching them develop into franchise stars, or nice paydays, is so satisfying. Love this game and can’t wait for the sequel.
