This Deckbuilder tactics game is very good. I've played it through on OG Switch, and now on Steam Deck reminding me of how good it is. Worthwhile if you like turn-based tactics/light deckbuilding/good pixel graphics.
Floppy Knights is a deck building, grid based, strategy RPG. I really like the deck building aspects, but the game play tends to drag on a bit and skews too puzzle-like for me. The graphics and story aren't my style. Still, it's a creative game for a very reasonable price.
Not a bad game, just pretty boring.
I'm sorry to say this, because the game has some charm, but I really did not like it. I tried, I played through maybe 15 missions or more. But it just does not click at all. So, I play a lot of strategy or tactics games, often turn based. And the main problem here is two-fold. First, the difficulty is ridiculously low. Not once in all the levels I went through there was even a hint of danger of not winning the game. Every time it was very obvious, it was just a matter of time. Secondly, the levels are not random, they are hand crafted - but the design is just not very great. This is made worse by the fact that in every (or almost every) level, the enemy spawns new units constantly, regularly, every 2-3 turns. Which adds to the tedium, but not to the danger, because they leak steadily, but slowly. Furthermore, I was not in love with the main mechanic (cards), because it meant a single unit could do all the work (the only benefits of putting other units on the board are: they could soke enemy damage, rarely needed; they can attack for free once, but this almost always require spending a card to move them, and often many cards; and usually they add some temporary card when they spawn, which is the main use, and in practice it only empowers the main unit you are working with anyway). I have to note the graphics are indeed very special, but if you are looking for a design even remotely in the same league as Dicey Dungeons, you won't find it here for sure. Story seems to also be rather big part of the game, and honestly, it's rather mediocre. Tons of dialogues that are not really funny or interesting.
A fun little game where you build decks over the course of the game that allow you to move and attack with your floppy knights. As a fan of deckbuilders, I thought it was fun and easy to get through.
Mi biggest problem with this game is that it didn't need to be a card game. Think fire emblem or even wargroove, but instead of being able to plan ahead, you have to pray you draw the correct amount of movement and attack cards or else, you will die. Of course you could not do anything reckless to mitigate this but then, it just becomes boring. The story is funny and the art is fun. During a sale? sure try it, is really cheap but gameplay is frustrating at best.
Well, hell yes. I love 'puzzle tactics' games and this is definitely a good example. I guess this is a kind of Wargroove-lite with deckbuilding. Must be 15-20 hours of gameplay here, probably not much replayability, but it's definitely worth it for fans of the genre.
Alot of rng based on what cards are drawn. and never enough energy to even used the cards given
