an amazing adaptation of Into the pit, The Pit Spring Bonnie is quite uniqe and makes you wonder what the creature really is, and why does it mimic aftons greatest crime
Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit is a phenomenal shift in the franchise, turning to a 16-bit style. Mega Cat Studios, the company who created this game, did a perfect job executing this art style, reminiscent of the mini games from the classic Five Nights at Freddy's games. The graphics are a delight to look at and the animations are very smooth and fluent, you could even call it pure artwork. The Fazbear Fright story with the same name that this game is based off of is adapted to perfection by Mega Cat Studios. This story is expanded into a full length game, which is already an incredible accomplishment. The gameplay itself is simple but highly effective, as players take control of Oswald, a young child who travels between 1985 and the present time, which is such a cool gameplay feature. The game still unfolds through the course of five nights, which is again really cool to see. Instead of being confined to the pizzeria (which can be fully explored and is really cool to search around), the player also travels to school, the library, the steel mill, and Oswald's own house. This changes up the formula in excellent fashion. Another way that Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit switches up the formula of the franchise is through quick time events, that the series hasn't seen before. There are some really awesome moments that come with these quick time events, especially when hiding from animatronics. Of course, Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit has some good scares. The environments alone fill players with dread, especially the pizzeria. The main antagonist, the Yellow Rabbit, is terrifying, and relentlessly stalks players throughout the course of the game. When hiding from this creature, players will have to complete a mini game based on the place they have chosen to hide in. Each mini game is fun and different from one another, which makes for an innovative game play experience. As the game progresses, a new animatronic is introduced in each night, with each having a distinct role to play in the game. The soundtrack itself and sound design is phenomenal in Into the Pit, creating some unsettling moments. Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit also has multiple endings, which crafts some awesome replay ability for players. There is also some really cool secrets for players to uncover, and some that have some great lore reveals. As always, there is great humour in Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit, just like the rest of the series. However, the final night of the game could have been executed better, as the grand finale does not comprise of anything unique, or really "grand". Instead it is composed of two quick time events, and then that's kind of it. The cutscene is pretty cool though, and the character's arc's come full circle. A secret night six would have been a cool addition as well, which is usually the case with these games. Although, Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit is a step in the right direction for the series moving forwards, and creates an exciting future for what Mega Cat studios has to offer next. 8.5/10
