Fire Arrow and Fire Arrow X are time attack style shooters with a heavy emphasis on scoring. Otherwisely, you can call them coffee break shmups.

I usually love classic shoot-em-up games, and Fire Arrow Plus delivers on the graphics, enemy design, and snappy retro music that you would expect from a strong entry in the genre. Unfortunately, the painfully short sessions and unforgiving/blinding pixel storms on the screen are significant enough drawbacks for me to set this one aside. I got this game on sale for $0.99 and, although the game has several notable strengths, I didn't really have fun and can't recommend it.
This is not one but 2 deliciously bite-sized shooters together in one package. The audio and visual presentation are top notch and the game is fun and challenging without becoming burdensome. You spend a short time period, either 3 or 5 minutes playing a randomized selection of enemy waves and special event mini-bosses and fight a regular boss at the end. Repeat for high scores. I'm more impressed than I expected to be. The game really delivers on aesthetics and play.
AWESOME! I spend a lot of time trawling through Steam lookign for shoot-em-ups and there is nothign better than discovering one you have missed and that turns out to be really good. Fire arrow feels just like a mid 90's Toaplan release from the frantic gameplay, lush graphics and awesome music and presentation. After flipping my monitor into TATE mode it felt like i was simply playing a game on MAME. The presentation is perfect and the action intense. I've only given it a quick blast as i found it just before i have to go out but this brief jaunt showed me everything i need to know. I later noticed it was developed by Gryzor whom now with Locomalito is spearheading the new arcade machine releases through Ex-Arcadia. I fully recommend this game, i think it's literally one of the best i've played and i've played hundreds and hundreds of them.
Fire Arrow Plus on steam is a shooting space gem with alive extraneous irritants limits! Some obligations of being sold into a fun game that can last you 30 minutes or 1 hour if your hardcore enough! The only gripes i have with this game its really short like so short...gradius 3 can overpass this on being urging longer! The music is whispering good and cracking rocket upbeat! The game has little realisticness...really cool shapes and creative designs for the bosses! Some players might slow them down! But it gets better once u survive juggling demands! Great sound effects too with radio correspondent effort! Some unmoored effects with intervention! Drives you into a insanity inferno and spits out speed quicken action! Im tapping my watch, and im giving this game a 8.7/10 not bad if its on sale! So have a space blast of indicating fun love the burrito master
Great-playing and great looking shooter. The art style gives off a Toaplan/R-Shark vibe.
Fire Arrow Plus is a 2D retro pixel bullet hell/shoot 'em up. That's really all there is to this, it's a painfully generic attempt to recreate the old 1990's arcade shmups. This does seem to be sincerely made even though it closely resembles the Chinese asset flips from "Small Game Studio". And that's really a problem, because when a game is indistinguishable from an asset flip (whether it's genuinely made or not), it's not offering much to gamers. On the upsides the game does "work" after a fashion and you can customise the controls, but unfortunately it's all downhill from there. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The game features lazy minimalist/untextured low-polygon "retro" assets and visuals, making this look like a barely functional 3D game from the early 1990s. The lack of textures is a method that lazy devs often use to disguise their lack of talent/interest in doing the graphics properly and trying to disguise it under the name of "art", or "We made it look bad on purpose", which really isn't something gamers should have to put up with. It's unclear why the developers weren't willing to arrange high quality, high polygon count contemporary assets and high resolution textures for the game. It looks bad as a result of their decisions, and that's just another reason to avoid it. The game only displays in mobile phone style ultra-pillarboxed aspect ratio. This is just one of many indications this was developed to be a mobile app and not a serious PC game. It's not acceptable for developers to dump garbage like this on Steam when it's not even formatted or designed to run properly on modern PC gaming displays, to the point that this could be considered insulting. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the GameMaker Studio construction kit/toolset. This is a very poor quality toolset favoured by amateur developers as it's cheap and requires little in the way of development skill, but unfortunately has very limited capabilities. Just as you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear, you can't make a great video game if you use a terrible engine. GameMaker Studio is most commonly used to make retro pixel shovelware and cash grabs. A strong argument can be made that construction kits like GameMaker Studio should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", Team Grybanser Fox has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 3 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 50,000 games for gamers to choose from (over 9,000 completely free titles), the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. Fire Arrow Plus has the far too high price of around $5 USD, it's not worth it given the defects and shortcomings with the product, especially considering the sheer number of completely free, much higher quality games on Steam.
Vertical space shooter. Tight controls. Fast reflex based gameplay. Interesting and original boss mechanics. Gorgeous retro presentation and graphics. Rocking audio. Very challenging and rewarding. Jugar mucho y memorizar patrones. Bien programado, no le he encontrado bugs, puede resultar irritante a veces. Si lo pillas en rebaja (75%) no lo pienses mucho. Podria ser un poco mas "accesible" y llegaria a mas gente. Ochentero a mas no poder. RECOMENDADO
