Modeled estimate, not a reported figure. How we estimate →
Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 26: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 37.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 46/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

As a fan of the original one, this is a complete different game with a new story and DMC type of gameplay which is not as bad as FF16. Plus nothing that you do here will be carried to the other games, so just watch the new story on youtube and go to the newest one if you want to give it a try

So, i never played the original one but i was up to give this one a try. Got it on sale and i have to say that i kinda get why people liked it back then, and i know that there were some changes into the story. Like i know Cloud is not wrong in the head in the original one. Just to say, i'm not a purist, so this is not the problems i have with the game. My problem are: - The pacing is ASS. Character just stares into each others for a couple of seconds every line. I'm not joking about it, the writing is... eh, but one could digest it if it were not for the fact that they all talk and do stuff SO SLOW. Right grillet speed cutscene up, once i discovered it i never release it. And most of the stuff they say it's also nothing special. It is so insignificat that if every character was mute and had to communicate with eachother by nodding with the head, not only you wouldn't miss anything, but it would be way faster. - Combat is kinda there. It's fun for the most part and i could see how it could be really pop off. One small problem. I'm in chapter 15, something like almost 20h in the game and i STILL DON'T HAVE ACCESS TO A FULL PARTY. The game REALLY likes to invent situation in witch your companions are simply not avaible to you anymore, so you could not really build sinergies between them, since now you have them, next 10min you don't anymore. And this problem extends to Cloud too. Sometimes you do not control him and he's somewhere else so not even the protag is a certain. -Exploration does not exist whatsoever. I'm serious about this one. Just go where you need to go. You'll never miss anything important. Keep in mind that if the game decided that you need to squeeze trough 2 wall in witch you could've pass trough anyway, prepare to watch your character side step back to the wall for 20 seconds because what if you get to your objective in this same century? You open a chest? bottle of eather. Does it have any use? not really. There is a bench before any important fight that completly fulls your entire party, so you don't need to be conservative. Just blast away. Trust me on this. Just go where you need to go and call it a day. - there is almost no equipment variety. You go to a arm shop? He does not have any weapon to sell. Now weapon are good stuff, it's not simply a better damage option, they have skills attached to them and sometimes it also changes your moveset, but there are so few. Stats are basically useless, you'll barely feel the difference, so you just need to watch for passives and skills and there ain't much to choose from. - Stats are useless also because your character does not really level up. I mean he does, numbers goes up but you don't really do anything with that. You do not choose what to do with those level ups, they just happen and there's that. Sure you would never feel inclined to farm, also because the game is not built around that, but i don't know if i'm happy with not being able to choose in what to specialize my character. - there si a skill name "steal". Never worked, don't bother. They were onto something but then... just forgot what it was? It starts good and then never really does anything. What a bummer.
If you like frustrating clunky broken combat system, or changes to the original game story. Then by all means, this is the game for you. Also there are pacing issues, Like forcing you to just walk for no reason whatsoever, that one actually happens a lot. I'm actually at odds with this, cause there are parts that i like, quite a lot in fact. This game is a clear case where we are lacking the neutral grade for a game Which would be far more in line with my grade than a simple downvote.
From someone who hasn't played the original, I am now hooked into the FF7 universe. Loved the story, great gameplay, this was simply a pleasure to 100% complete. There is definitely some bloat in this game, side quests and drawn out level design. I've heard that in the '97 original, all of this gameplay takes a fraction of time compared to Remake. Took me upwards of 60h to complete my first normal playthrough. Looking forward to playing Rebirth, excited to see what they have improved from this game.
Nice PC Port! and bring back nostalgia
So far this is a great RPG experience. Side quests already have me grinding my way through the system, learning it thoroughly as I explore the world's environments while enjoying the storytelling. Of course it does the original justice so far as well. Recommended for newcomers to the series who enjoy action RPGs. Not overly complicated, but enjoyable and satisfying.
