Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Reviews
Peak.

13 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
13 on sale2 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 2 “not sold” markets are read from the Steam price pass of Sep 13: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price in those. The 13 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 4.11/day in the week to Aug 4 → 4.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,420 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

HMMM STORY 10 / 10 COMBAT 5 / 10 I absolutely loved the story as every other Final Fantasy I have played before, but combat was one of my least favorite from every Final Fantasy I have played before. I think i did at least 100+ phoenix downs and life even after pre grinding before boss battle, most boss battle fight wasn't hard fight but it was quite annoying in all honesty having to use phoenix downs and life + Also the fact that u can't tell what kind of item you just picked up from the ground was also annoying, i couldn't tell whether i picked up key item or usable item or if it was an equipment piece.
Despite being two and a half decades old, Final Fantasy IX has aged beautifully. The presentation is stellar for its age, squeezing everything it could out of old hardware to provide impressive graphics, great sound design, catchy music, and sprawling set pieces. The combat is dynamic, with the FF series' Active Time Battle system fusing real time action and turn based combat very well, which ultimately makes combat more engaging and fun once you get past the learning curve. The characters are awesome, featuring entertaining personalities, memorable designs, fun movesets, and unique motivations, overall leading me to get attached. On top of that, one of my least favorite things in games like this is being forced to choose between party members and having to be intentional about changing them out, and this game helps mitigate that issue by having many instances in the story force a particular party, especially in the early game, which I appreciated and found quite natural. The story is really interesting, and is a perfect game to introduce you to Final Fantasy as staple series elements like summon magic and black mages are very plot-centric. It is also packed with lots of fascinating locations and great side characters, which is important for a game as long as this. The content on offer is plentiful, with not only a lengthy main story but plenty of minigames and optional side content, some of which I did not even get to. And lastly, the messaging is compelling, ultimately being about what it means to truly live, which involves characters facing their own mortality, grappling with being artificially created for an unwanted purpose, and finding their own meaning and purpose for living. Overall, this game is the whole package, and if you can stomach the long-winded nature of JRPGs, FFIX is a worthy playthrough indeed.
An amazing game with a great story and characters that still is one of Square's best. The combat is pure classic final fantasy you know and love along with the ability system that is not that hard to get used to. The only thing I never like is the difficulty spike at the end. Just weird out of nowhere the enemies hit like a truck when I was doing fine in the prior dungeons. Well hopefully if there ever is a remake it is more faithful to the original and does not go insane like the FF7 games have been.
quina is the best final fantasy character
Perfect
Unos últimos de los grandes Final Fantasy antes de fusionarse con Enix. Totalmente recomendable. Recomedable jugarlo con el MoguriMod. Mejoras graficas.
