Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.89/day in the week to Aug 4 → 2.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 22: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Joguem!
final fantasy 2
i've seen a lot of negatives on the exp system but for me , i dont mind that . Only thing that i find tedious is the amount of doors in this game to forces way too many encounters . Yes , you can turn of encounters but you need that to level your characters as they level through their actions . As for things that i absolutely love is the story . I can feel the struggle of rebellion with those timely and emotional NPC deaths . A must play for the story and soundtracks IMO
Besides a strange leveling system, it's an improvement over the first game in every way.
i don't get the hate
The story is good, although the stat scaling is completely absurd.
English Version (french below) : Ok so, this game is kind of weird. You level up your stats by "using" them (ex : you level health by getting attacked) so it can be a bit disturbing and is generally the main thing people complain about in this game. The story is a a lot more developed and I actually kind of liked it, and was quite surprised at how many side characters there were how developed they were in such an old game. Like its predecessor, it doesn't overstay its welcome and the music is still very good but who's surprised by this in a final fantasy game ? If this game had been on its original hardware, I don't know if I would have finished / recommended it, but as in the pixel remaster, you can get exp and remove random encounter, you can really enjoy the story without being held back by the weird progression. You should try it out ! But don't be shy to use the pixel remaster features it it allows you to enjoy the story better.
I am playing through FF to FF6 and I wasn't sure about my final review of this game, but after playing FF3, I have to say that the one that I recommend is FF2. I wasn't enjoying the gameplay too much; the encounter rate is WAY TOO HIGH (you can barely walk in the dungeons, and keep in mind that these dungeons are big compared to the ones of FF1) and you have to grind a lot with the weapons system and level up of this game. I liked the idea that characters can work with all the weapons and magic spells (The characters are quite customizable), but you will enventually find an enemy or boss in a figth in which you wont have any of the rigth skills to figth them and then you will have to grind for a while in order to train with that one specific skill. LOVED the music and the story is good (more entertaining and the characters are more complex) the writers took the opportunity and gave us a stronger story in the second installment of the franchise. Honestly, it's a good game, but you do need a good amount of patience with the weapons / magic system, and thank god for the encounter: off button of the game; this option really makes the game way more enjoyable (I wish I had found out sooner about this option; I discovered I could turn off the encounters near the end of this game).
