Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon

Far Cry 3 but dragon. Its one of those don't take it too seriously, but still an enjoyable good. Far Cry 3 - Blood Dragon is a pretty straight forward game, you play as Rex who is a commando cyborg trying to save the world. It uses Far Cry 3 as a baseline but added more content on top. Its an old school tribute to those 80's blockbuster films. This game doesn't take itself seriously unlike the mainline games, but its still very enjoyable, I loved the soundtrack and the blood dragons were a nice addition. Only real negative thing I got to say with all Ubisoft games, is their launcher, if you can't get Uplay to work you're in for a bad time. Otherwise, I liked this game. Very short unless you're going for a 100% which its not that bad. Murder Nature and Dragon Slayer were the only real pain in the butt (I could not for the life of me find the last animal I needed) and I still dislike kill x number of said enemy type but Dragon Slayer wasn't that bad. Overall I think this game is a really enjoyable one, minus the Uplay but hey, its Ubisoft.

Look back on this title with 2026 eyes, it fails to live up to the hype of "one of the best standalone games." If you play this game in bursts, you might get more out of it but I soured on this game before I had reached the final mission. I soured on this game before I completed it. I soured on this game once i realized just how limited its bag of tricks were 4 hours in. But if Ubisoft knows how to do anything, it's make a checklist. Don't play this game if you want a fun standalone, you're better off playing Dead Island Riptide.
