Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
Availability
We put this game to every storefront we collect. A market that answered not sold has told us something about the game; a market we never asked has not, and the two are never drawn the same.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Este juego tiene mucho potencial pero el juego esta roto
Far Cry 2 in a nutshell: > You've got a mission, go from point A to point B > You are halfway to the point B > You encounter the enemy's outpost > You clear the outpost > You finally get to the point B > Now you have to go back to the point A > You are halfway to the point A > You encounter the same enemy's outpost (apparently your enemies can respawn) > You clear the outpost again (> optional- pray that your game won't crash) > You finally get to the point A > Rinse and repeat

14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Sep 7: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Dont play this game until Ubisoft optimizes it, it crashes every 15 minutes and doesnt autosave. Its literally not built for modern PC'S and is unplayable unless your willing to download several mods and dig through the game files changing almost everything which im not willing to do
Игра хорошая и интересная, но сохраняться приходиться вручную.
Stupid game. Color correction in itself is stupid. Game crashes and no solution about it. Pretty much not optimized to modern mid-high range gaming rig.

Hat überhaupt nicht gefallen. Es ist ein "Open world game", wer laufen mag, der wird es gut finden. Wenn man das trotzdem gekauft hast, selber Schuld!

Far Cry 2

Far Cry 2 is a game whose mechanics have aged very unevenly. Some of them are still genuinely impressive even today, while others (especially its lack of quality-of-life features) can be incredibly frustrating for modern players. On top of that, there is an even bigger problem: Ubisoft never bothered to properly maintain the PC version. Nowadays, playing it on modern systems without installing several unofficial community patches and fixes is a very rough experience. All of this drags the game down to the point where it is easy to understand why so many players give up after only a few hours, frustrated by both its technical issues and a design that often does not respect the player's time. And yet, beneath that layer of rust and neglect lies some of the most impressive game design I have ever seen.

THE BEST • The fire simulation. Simply incredible. There is still almost nothing comparable, even today. It may sound like an exaggeration, but see it in action for yourself and you will understand why it remains one of the game's most celebrated features. • The physics as a whole. Explosions, destructible objects, and especially the way fire spreads all combine to create dynamic situations that still feel remarkably advanced. • The immersion. Far Cry 2 does countless little things to make you feel like you are truly part of its world. There is no intrusive HUD, you physically hold a map instead of pausing the game, and even healing yourself is fully animated rather than hidden behind a menu. On top of that, weapons deteriorate over time, jam, and can even explode if you keep using them for too long, forcing you to replace them. You also have to constantly manage malaria by finding medication. Together, these systems create a persistent feeling of vulnerability and tension that very few games have managed to replicate. • The world itself. For a game released in 2008, the map is surprisingly large and packed with activities, collectibles, and small details that reward exploration. • The story. Without spoiling anything, some of its plot twists still hold up remarkably well. The themes surrounding the conflict, the war, and its characters are genuinely interesting and quite different from what you usually see in shooters, even if the way the story is presented could have been much stronger.

THE WORST • The pacing. Easily the game's biggest weakness. Much of the gameplay loop consists of driving from one end of the map to the other to complete objectives that often feel very similar. • Getting around the map. Fast travel exists, but it is extremely limited and rarely gets you anywhere close to your objective. Most missions require five to ten minutes of driving just to reach them. During those trips, however, enemy outposts constantly respawn and patrols pursue you almost relentlessly. Since you cannot shoot while driving, you often have to stop repeatedly just to deal with enemies that refuse to leave you alone. There is also the constant risk of being run over and killed instantly, forcing you to reload your last save because there are no autosaves. You can only save manually at scattered safe houses, and there is no guarantee one will be nearby when you need it. • Some of its best ideas are poorly explained. The buddy system is a perfect example. On paper, it is a fantastic mechanic, but the game barely explains how it works. Several of my companions died permanently simply because the game never warned me that they could only be revived a limited number of times. Likewise, it never really explains the benefits of building relationships with them beyond the occasional rescue. Frustratingly, this does not always happen, even when the game explicitly says a buddy is "ready to rescue" you.

VERDICT Far Cry 2 is not just a game with good ideas. It is a game full of extraordinary ideas whose execution does not always live up to their incredible ambition. Some of those ideas remain so far ahead of their time that it is honestly surprising to see how few modern games have matched them. Is it worth playing? I would say yes, as long as you have patience and genuine curiosity. Otherwise, do not force yourself. This is not a game that is "fun" in the conventional sense. I would describe it more as a fascinating experience with an incredibly immersive atmosphere and surprisingly philosophical undertones. That said, I cannot recommend buying the PC version in the state Ubisoft has left it. If you do decide to play it, install the community patches first. They make a huge difference and allow the game to be experienced the way it deserves.

SCORE: 8/10
