Terminator 2D: NO FATE

I simply don't understand all the positive reviews. The gameplay is mediocre even by the standards of SNES or Sega Genesis games. The story mode of this game lasts one hour. No, you didn't misread that. One hour of gameplay.

It was interesting to play the memorable scenes of the movie with the old arcade style pixel graphics, but that is practically the only good thing about this game. This game is way overpriced for its volume, and the gameplay is shallow and repetitive. There is no reason you should play this game than all the Metal Slug games (still so much fun to play!) on Steam. You may say this game is for hardcore fans of the movie so my criticism is pointless. 8.5/10. I am going to be completely honest: I am usually not a fan of 2D games. I don't normally play them, and they rarely manage to keep my attention for long. But "No Fate" completely broke the rule for me. I absolutely loved my time with it. The first thing that grabs you is the incredible, striking art style. It is absolutely gorgeous and has a distinct visual identity that breathes so much mood and atmosphere into every single frame. It’s one of those rare games where the visuals alone make you want to slow down and just look at the screen. But it’s not just a pretty face—the gameplay loop is tight, responsive, and incredibly engaging. Even for someone who typically avoids this style of play, everything here felt intuitive, satisfying, and deeply rewarding. It managed to win over a total skeptic, which is the highest praise I can possibly give it. Pros: + Breathtaking Art Style: Stunning visual design that makes every screen look like a piece of dark, atmospheric art. + Accessible yet Deep: Mechanics that click instantly, even if you don't typically play 2D games of this genre. + Fantastic Vibe: The perfect match of music, art, and tone. Cons: - Can be a bit punishing in certain sections, but the art and atmosphere always keep you motivated to try again. Final Verdict: Whether you love 2D games or—like me—usually steer clear of them, "No Fate" is an absolute must-play. It is a stunning, stylish triumph that completely won me over. En general muy buen juego. Recrea varias escenas icónicas de la película y además vemos un poco más de la guerra contra Skynet en el futuro. La jugabilidad está muy bien, los gráficos cumplen y el apartado sonoro es de lo mejor, es muy fácil reconocer varias de las piezas musicales clásicas de la franquicia (la música cuando aparece el T-1000 en Pescadero 🔥). Lo malo es que dura muy poco. Me pasé la campaña en unos 40 minutos jugando tranquilo, pero si rusheas, fácilmente la terminas en unos 20 mins. La rejugabilidad tampoco da para mucho. Más allá de desafíos como terminarlo sin continuaciones, en cierto tiempo, jugar mapas específicos o eliminar enemigos hasta que se acabe el tiempo, no hay demasiado contenido que invite a volver una y otra vez. Eso sí, hay dos momentos donde debes tomar decisiones que cambian la ruta de la historia, lo que al menos motiva una segunda partida para ver las otros desenlaces (muy parecidos), aunque después de eso ya no queda mucho más. ¿Lo recomiendo? Sí. Y si eres fan de la franquicia el sí es rotundo. Eso sí, creo que el precio está bastante alto para la cantidad de contenido que ofrece. Mi consejo es esperar una buena oferta. ¡Hasta la vista, Baby!

I have very few hours in this game but don't let that fool you, I think this is a fantastic game. I'm a huge sucker for retro style games and I'm an even bigger sucker for games that have an authentic retro feel. I do however feel like the price is a bit steep for what you're getting and I would recommend waiting for a sale. That being said, I think it's totally worth giving this game a go.

Can we finally have an actual triple AAA project on Terminator franchise????

A classic feeling arcade game with a beautiful T2 theme! The pixel art is gorgeous, the gameplay is fun! It reminds me a lot of my time at the arcade as a child, pumping quarters into Ninja Gaiden with friends until we got the high score! The story mode is quick, in the vein of classic video games the main fun comes from playing through again and again, always at higher difficulties and aiming for higher scores! I feel this will be a game I whip back out several times a year just to try and improve my runs!

Fan Service Galore!! NOTE: you *really* want a controller for this. It will make the game way more enjoyable! This game is on the easier side, so if you are on the fence about going easy or normal, def go normal. If you are on the fence about normal vs hard, def go hard. The art is amazing, the music fantastic, and the gameplay slick and intuitive. The controls handle well. Having recently replayed the T2 SNES game, I can say this is the game we wished we'd gotten in the 90s! It's soooo good. Run, gun, and fun! The explosions are satisfying, the enemies are fun, and the setting and movie nostalgia is through the roof. If you love the T2 movie, you'll enjoy this game. Even if you aren't a gamer, you can handle this one if you put it on easy mode. I sat down and played it start to finish in just over an hour. But then it has some replayability as there are 2 paths where you can branch and see different outcomes (but you can only choose them after you've beaten story mode). Additionally there is Arcade mode. So not a giant game, but it feels "big enough" and is polished so well! Definitely worrh it, imo

i dont recommend this game because you get to play as the t-800 like twice, most of the gameplay is scenes that arent even from the movie, you can beat half of thelevels by just holding down the attack button, and more.
