There are times in Factory Town when the logistics become intimidating. Growing pains show up as congested roads and conveyor belt spaghetti. If you want a break from that, to guide the progression of a town and its fledgling industry without the responsibility of figuring out how to move all their goods from here to there, that's what you'll find in Factory Town Idle. It's not one of those idle games that stretches on for months or more. I ran through it in just under 69 hours (nice). The first half of the game follows a path through a series of different biomes, each with its own particular resources and constraints, and your towns need to exchange these resources through the trading post to progress through the tech tree. But… it does feel rather half-baked after that. I had exhausted the tech tree while my towns were hardly more than 60% of max level. From there on, the upgrades were just a generic numbered series. The distinction between the biomes becomes less and less, as trade flows between towns instantly and we can mitigate the region's shortcomings. Clearly not as much thought put in to this stage of the game as Factory Town's campaign. I was engaged with it enough to play to completion, so I am giving it the 👍, but with caveats. Don't pick this up hoping to find a staple of the idle genre. Pick it up as an inexpensive part of the Factory Town bundle if you want to escape conveyor belts for a while.
My review after 100% completion: This would be a neutral review. The game is neither good or bad. Gameplay is similar to other idle games in which you collect resources to upgrade your buildings in order to collect more resources for the upgrade, until you trigger the achievements. Late game requires some grinding which is acceptable. It’s not a bad game I would say. Recommended? Yes, for those who want to get more achievements in Steam profile with a fair price.
Netter Idle. Keine Probleme beim Spielen in 92 Std aufgefallen.
I thought this was a nice chilled easy, simple, game to run in the background. And then I unlocked the River....
