About
Factory Town 2 is a game about building a thriving tropical village, automating item production with conveyor belts, trains, and catapults, and feeding a giant volcano in exchange for super powers.
You start out on an uninhabited island in the middle of the ocean. After harvesting some resources you can build houses, shops, roads, and factories. This will attract new villagers, who can do your tasks for you! They'll buy the things you make, and you can use that income to upgrade your buildings and expand further.
As your economy grows, you'll need to solve bottlenecks and optimize supply chains using roads, bridges, trains, conveyor belts, and other automated delivery systems. Keep everyone's stats full by supplying them with food, water, clothing, luxuries, and other goods, and your tiny village will grow into a metropolis stretching across multiple islands!
All of this is happening under the watchful eye of a powerful but friendly volcano deity. By feeding items into the volcano, you can gain its favor and it will reward you with new recipes, technology, and upgrades. The volcano can even summon new islands from the ocean floor that you can use to expand your town when you need more space.
A day/night cycle, volumetric water physics, dozens of new items, overhauled town simulation, a controllable avatar and new transportation gadgets like catapults and ziplines offer fans of the original game a fresh and massively improved experience.
Dig trenches and place dams to control the flow of water from springs in the mountains down to your farms and reservoirs to ensure they are properly hydrated. Use waterwheels and windmills to turn drive shafts that can boost food and mineral processing power, or generate electricity that flows through power lines to run refrigerators or furnaces.
Produce dozens of different items including tropical drinks, pastries, ice cream, cooked meals, coffee, clothes, jewelry, books, medicine, and potions. Each item has its own set of worker-boosting stats, so you'll have to choose the best items to make based on what resources you have and the needs of your town.
As always, you can relax and build with no stress or fear of failure, since there are no harsh penalties or time pressure to punish players for experimenting.

Love it! Perfect balance of resourcing and easy to level up, tons of stuff to do, easy to play but keeps your mind sharp with what resources need to go where and how to keep all the villagers happy! GREAT sequel, can see a lot of replay!

Great game overall, but I think its optimization systems could be more rewarding. Managing space, production, logistics, and happiness across multiple islands gives you a lot to optimize. The problem is that the easiest solutions are often also the most convenient ones. Wagons and Tuk Tuks are so flexible that I rarely needed to care about exact production rates or throughput. Most problems could be solved by simply adding more production and letting inventories overflow. Because of that, optimizing often felt like extra work rather than something the game naturally encouraged. There are trains, boats, conveyors, logistics systems, and productivity upgrades, but I rarely felt a strong reason to fully use them. I barely used conveyors at all. Many products also eventually lead into productivity upgrades, aside from quest items, but since overproducing and stockpiling already works so well, improving productivity often felt unnecessary. Playing this way does require some idle time, since you often end up waiting for inventories to fill. Before playing, I expected something like Satisfactory with happiness management. In practice, it felt more like an idle game with spatial and logistics management layered on top. As a side note, I managed all of my markets through one circular route connecting every island(by train). Adding products was easy, but changing them later required way too many clicks. Also, once the railway became long enough, simply hovering over a train station caused noticeable stuttering almost every time. Still a great game. I just wish optimizing the many systems felt more rewarding than simply overproducing.

I have really enjoyed this game.. I have gotten to endgame, and it's been a blast and scratches that itch for factory/automation games
Great game. Currently, it's predecessor is more functionable as far as customization goes, but the features are nice so far in this one. Graphics are definitely improved, and gameplay is smooth.
Hallo zusammen. Lg Oldieman Hi, everyone. I thought the first game was already great—I spent well over 300 hours playing it, tinkering, and cursing :-). The possibilities in the second game are infinitely greater. There’s a lot of new stuff to explore and discover. It’s just plain fun, and time flies by. Okay, it’s STILL in Early Access, but the team led by developer Erik is extremely dedicated and focused on fixing bugs and answering players’ questions as quickly as possible. A lot of passion has gone into this game. Definitely worth checking out!! Best regards...
Played all the way through the demo (which you should definitely try if you have any interest in the genre). A good automation game that's kind of stuck in the middle between avatar based (Factorio, DSP, etc) and 'regular' town builder (the first game, Captain of Industry, etc). IMO, it should pick a lane and commit to it. But even so, it's got a lot of nice improvements, and the structure of island expansion is better than the starting over each time scenarios of the original.
I loved playing the first factory town in 2024 and was really excited to see a second one announced. This game did not disappoint me at all, even in early access, I got the exact same playtime completing this game as the first one - and I literally think I played all 55 hours in one week I couldn't put this game down. By the end of the campaign with SO MUCH going on I noted 30 FPS going down to 15 FPS if I would open certain overlays such as the happiness overlay - but for the most part the performance was fine, being over 100 FPS right up until the end game. Really enjoyed this game and hope the developer has loads of success.
