Obrovská škoda, že Condemned 2 na Steame nevyšiel. Jednotka sa mi extrémne páčila a hlavne kvôli atmosfére. Príbeh sice troška klišé ale inak super.

Get this game. Game is no longer available on steam but find a way. Whether its a steam key from G2A or from another platform. This is a gem. Sure the combat can be janky, and fps can randomly dip for no reason if you're playing on newer hardware, but when the stars align the combat can be very delightfully delectable. The atmosphere in this game is terrific, and the splash of psychological horror meshed in with a clunky yet satisfying combat system makes for an interesting experience at bare minimum, in fact lets talk about that. It all felt stiff at first and a little clunky, but after a little time of finding your footing it all comes together to form a dumb fun blueprint of bashing skulls. When unarmed and alone, it is a quick rush to stumble into an enemy encounter just for the both of you to scramble for a weapon first, and you can get pretty crafty with where you can pry a weapon from. Whether its a loose wall board, iron pipes sticking out from the worn out plumbing, full blown locker doors, etc. Some weapons allow you to traverse the map better, like the shovel for decapitating wires, fire axe for cutting down doors, crowbar for prying safes, sledgehammers for crushing locks, etc. You get access to tazer very early on, and lemme tell you this thing will be your best friend and helps cheese most encounters to trivialize combat. The mechanic was meant for stunning enemies with guns so they don't ♥♥♥♥ you up crazy, allowing you to take their weapon or knock them while they're down, but you can just do this to every enemy whenever the weapon gets off cooldown and it removes a lot of the stress and tense moments. Maybe they could of limited the amount of times you use your tazer before the battery runs out, or removed it all together? I felt like hiding behind a corner and waiting for the enemy to run out of bullets or when i hear the sound of reloading made the combat feel more rewarding but that's just me. All in all, the combat felt different and refreshing. Definitely worth the playtime!
i bought this game three or four years ago hoping it would feel like fear since they share the same engine and textures and while the atmosphere is great i hated dealing with all the bug fixes and the fact that high fps turns you into a one legged old man with cramped legs hobbling up stairs at grandma speeds in formula 1. the game crashed constantly for about thirty minutes during the last level so i rage quit and watched the ending on youtube instead. it is a dated horror title where the gunplay/general combat eventually falls flat with no real combo meta beyond stun and bash or use a shotgun but even then you cant save ammo. the gritty visuals and first person perspective do help create the games compelling story but the technical issues and the fact you cant buy it on steam anymore really limit its accessibility for new players. buy it somewhere else or if you are lucky enough to get a console copy you might just have fun since it is monolith so it can not really be bad but this game wasn't made for modern pcs.
sometimes it was a little buggy, but really nice overall
Condemned: Criminal Origins is a really tense and fun horror game. I loved its use of melees in combat which shows how well the ragdolls are. I never really care about stories in games but I was always interested about the mc trying to find the serial killer I played the pc port with no fixes which was mostly a good experience. Only bug that I found without looking for it is the audio cutting out during the train scene. Besides that, there were either no bugs, or no bugs that I noticed 7.7/10
There are not enough games like Condemned. If you played it when it released you still remember it. If you play it now you won't forget it...
I'm on Linux, so the game is totally busted. The whole map and some enemies can fade entirely out of reality at times when playing. I didn't bother tinkering with it, but I still had a good time. The fighting is a touch clunky, but being able to pull weapons out of environmental objects is a very impressive technical aspect of this game. The atmosphere is great, but the story is inconclusive. It starts out pretty good, but the ending just goes nowhere and apparently you have to buy the sequel to understand what's going on when it comes to the big picture. It's still good, but I would've liked a more complete story so that the game can stand on its own. That menu theme is sick! Give it a listen if you haven't. Hopefully they bring it back and give that remaster/remake/port some Linux support.
