Had a demo disc as a kid. The controls are as abysmal as I remember. Just how I like it. Who else thought this game was called Rage for all these years? xD No wonder I couldn't find it.
A great game from my childhood, one of the fist PC games I ever owned. Really cool late 90s/early 2000s futuristic vibe. Fun top down alien shooter, with a really cool theme, and early 2000s graphics. Love that intro video. Brings back a lot of memories ha. If you dont like the tank controls, someone posted a guide on how to play the game in third person mode, which is actually pretty dang fun. And if you are having trouble getting it to run on Win 10, you have to MANUALLY allow the game through Windows Defender. After that, the game ran perfectly, just run setup first. Even detected my graphics card, and ran at a native 1080 resolution. Thats pretty dang good for a game from 99..
It's a great game, but the movement is borked and too inaccurate with the tanky controls and the topdown perspective. One of the few games that would need to be remade but with better functioning controls. The various different mines and instantly killing laser fences can get on nerves, but it's still great fun to blast through the levels with all the flashing explosions. If you're trying this then do yourself a favor and use the cheat to change the camera angle. First turn on numpad; type "bod", press minus on numpad, type "bucketofchicken", finally press minus again. Do this in a quick succession and then load a game after being shot at face. Thanks to whoever mentioned this on the game's forums.
I remember reading about this game in gaming magazine some 25 years ago but I haven't tried it myself until now. And I finally understand why I always heard good things about this game. You are a clone of a super soldier trying to stop the alien invasion. Gameplay is simple but huge fun - just run & gun! Can't help mysel but the overall feel is very Duke Nukem-like. Especially DN: Manhattan Project just from top down view. Your ingame character even looks bit like Duke and you can save hostages as well. Only here its not babes but dudes :) You have limited amount of lives (which in my opinion is a good thing in this case) but you can save your progress in between the missions. The only thing I dislike (in any game) is the limited time you have. But I understand it's there to make the action more swift and you can find a lot of time power ups that should give you plenty of time to finish the mission. Another big plus is that the game supports modern high resolutions so you don't have to do anything, just install and play! If you want some great acrade top down shooter I definitelly recommend. Worth full price, which is not much since it costs only 4 bucks.
Great game, arcade style blast em up, it can be a good challenge on expert difficulty !! played expendable lite for hours as a youngster
99 model retro aksiyon oyunu günümüze hitap etmiyor tabiki nostalji için alınır sadece
This was the first game I fell in love with and probably the start of my love for games in general. Having found it now 25 years later has unlocked my lost inner child.
