I found this game on their original website around 7+ years ago and never knew it came to steam, got it instantly when I found out it was on steam randomly. So this game has intrigued me for years. Shame there isn't a maybe, the game is alright. The game is brutally slow, nearly unplayabley slow with 1 resource gather (rather than 2 that can be set in the menu). So that is basically a requirement to play. The controls are pretty poor, I get that is part of it but accidentally selecting your king when you meant to select a military unit is pretty unacceptable. The games factions are actually pretty fun as well as asymmetric and well thought out all considering the scale, this isn't really a AoE depth game or anything. They all play really uniquely. AI doesn't feel cheap, if it gets ahead it will continue to do alright. Unfortunately between the controls and the short length (took me 3-4 hours to 100% the game and achievements) - at least the price is right. Nice little side game for an RTS player.
Really addicting little rts, I kept upping the difficulty and trying to maximize efficiency with builds to find which civ is the best. Game is imperfect, I WISH they'd rebalance a little or add a new civ! but I guess sokpop hates me. BUT, Here's some meta tips: 1. the elves are OP as hek, but especially because they: have treewalking archers, have walls, infinitely scale health (and damage, with a little more effort), are the only civ with WALLS, and their siege unit is fast big and 1 shots goblin towers....and does the most damage over all. 2. but dangit, the other civs are so FUN. in a 4 player FFA, definitely focus down the elf player first tho, and then the lich. 3. lich may be the second best because of their scaling with souls (tower dropping and using their zap ability can be really excellent, so take advantage of the fact that you can instantly build and expand beyond where anything you own is located by saving up all the resources for a carefully calculated airstrike) 4. Wish the goblins had a little more of a boost (my favorite civ!), but one easy calculated building dropstrike the goblins can do is spamming suicide bombers where all of your opponents' houses are. goblins may also choose to annoy the heck out of everyone by using flying goblins and ridiculously cheap arrow towers to harass workers along treelines. another is hobgoblin spam. stockpile 30 stone and 90 food (oof) (easy to do with the "every food gives a stone" upgrade), expand territory to their front line using cheap towers, and then drop 3 hobgoblins a little distant from each other (splash damage!!) 5. as briefly touched in 4, destroy all houses to soft-win, as unless they already have wood stockpiled, they would have no place to drop off resources. 6. again...if the elves get big, there's no winning. 7. ...humans are too basic, but I'm sure they have some epic things you can do with their catapults. I thought their golden knights were a little too expensive to get up and running, but maybe someone out there loves them the way I love the goblins? Anyways. Game is hard :)

https://youtu.be/8H-At4203GI Offering a well laid out initial premise it struggles with balance with unit count and resource economy resulting in a slower experience than the scope of the game can support.
This might be Sokpop's best RTS game. I wish that they'll consider a "deluxe" version or a sequel with more features.
too simplistic
It's what I expect from a free mobile game for casual gamer-wannabes and imo it's not meant to be taken seriously as a RTS. So, RTS fans: Hands off that. Also, it can't be controlled with a mouse. It's tedious and annoying when being played with a keyboard. I can't imagine it's much better with a gamepad (but I honestly haven't tried).
King Pins is a 2D strategy PvP game where you start in a small village where you have to gather resources including wood, food, stone and gold in order to build more houses allowing you to expand your population with villagers, knights, archers and mages to defend your base from attacking forces in order to keep your king alive. Graphics- Meh Soundtrack- Good Audience- kids or teenagers Difficulty- Not too hard to understand Story- Not really a story Game time- okay length Price- Its not too expensive for what you get 5/10
This isn't fun. It's an RTS game, but the unit cap in most matches is limited to 5-8. You can't experience the thrill of commanding because the game system forces you to issue orders to your tiny handful of units one by one! In 4-player matches, since you can only allocate your pitiful 5-8 population to peasants mining resources, everyone ends up relying on defense towers to slowly squeeze the enemy king to death. You get no satisfaction from maneuvering armies – it's more about grinding resources and building structures faster. The population limit ensures victory comes from total building count, not tactics. 我为什么不去玩经营类游戏? Why don't I just play a management sim?
Small and really fun RTS game
Very fun game. Its small and doesnt have much features, but it is fun to play against friends. There are 4 different civilizations you can play, each with their own gimmick, their own buildings and their own units.
