Exodus Borealis is an excellent tower defense title.

Its very hard

Okayish game built around the annoying trope of making silly spiral mazes for towers. The colony sim part seems kind of fun, but the geometry of maze building is too boring for the game to be good.

[h1]Super Addicting Game![/h1] You'll know you enjoyed this game if you launch it, glance at the clock a few hours later, and realize you completely lost track of time. Like every game, Exodus Borealis has its pros and cons. Sure, I'd love to see better graphics, more features, or maybe even a sequel someday. But honestly, even without all of that, I had an amazing time. I put around 10 hours into my very first map, and I enjoyed every minute of it. The best part? That was only the first of four main story maps, with several bonus maps still waiting afterward. I won't spend time talking about the game's originality or its blend of genres - the Steam store page already does that. Instead, I'll talk about something the store page can't really show: [b]Value for money.[/b] If you're wondering whether you'll get your money's worth, my answer is a definite yes. In terms of entertainment per dollar, Exodus Borealis offers an excellent return. Of course, whether you play the second, third, and later maps is entirely up to you. They don't drastically change the core gameplay - they're mostly new layouts with tougher enemies that encourage different strategies and base designs. But I think that's more than enough for players who enjoy a challenge or simply want more content after finishing the first map. I rarely spend 10 enjoyable hours on just the first map of a game, and here I still have plenty of content left to experience. For me, it is absolutely worth it.

Fun game, looks good, has a great balance between it's tower defense and it's city management. My primary issue is one of direction, that is, a lack of once I left the tutorial. The goal is to build a statue that includes all the gems plus a special gem that you get from the centre of the island ... but there was no clear way about how to get past the first gate. I had everything researched, every building built, a successful maze that broke down wave upon wave of enemies ... but no clear way on how to progress. I had the sense that I had to go further into the island, to build a second, perhaps even third community and its associated tower defense, but nothing in the tips indicated what I needed to do, and if the tutorial had mentioned it, that was hours ago. There were no 'quest' goals (like Do X To Open Gate), nothing to click on the gate ... so ... it was fun, but if you can't tell me, in game, how to get to the next area ... I think I'm done. Had fun, better than Diplomacy Is Not An Option.

I had a lot of fun, needs some polish, but overall a grate game.

For some reason, this game gets a lot of negative criticism. I personally enjoyed it very much and don't agree with that same hate. It does a good job of introducing players to the genre of "god mode" City Builder + Tower Defense. Also, its a very relaxing game with the option to speed up the game to 8x speed if you want to advance gameplay to match your speed. I'm also someone who doesn't care what other people say about games, thus, I enjoyed it for everything it was. Special mention to the Arachnophobia Mode. I do not suffer from such a phobia, but enabled it anyway for a very clever and fun way to represent the enemy threat. Cheers

Very simple and basic - graphics are ok. no real tutorial and it just feels very cheaply made. Nothing for me.

Decent game. I was entertained for a couple of hours - but then the lack of QOL features start to show. Simple stuff like auto-pausing production when a certain limit is reached or the ability to see if your farmers are successfull in tending a fields in a season. A few minor QOL updates would have made this game a recommendation, but since this game clearly is considered complete by the devs, I cannot recommend it.

Super addictive. A great time. After playing some classic Deskop Tower Defense, I was looking for another tower defense game with that same freedom and creativity in how you place your towers and how that can manipulate the enemy paths in order to maximise damage, and this game delivers that in spades. The colony sim aspec it pretty easy to get into and is all in service of the tower defense gameplay. Since I bought it a week ago I have basically been trying to find any spare time I can to place this game (which is not very common in the games I play that I find with the older that I get). Really recommend this one.
