Interesting concepts but you can't create individual routes for multiple trains that use the same tracks, even if it's just a tiny section. They invariably end up on the same route and eventually crash. This is unacceptable at any price and the game never should've been released without the ability to prevent this. You can't run them in opposite directions either because the switches get all screwed up. I mean, you can set them up to run that way, it's just that you still end up in the same situation. Other train issues: * The cars constantly disconnect from each other and either spread out or overlap. A few times my trains have simply vanished, always after they get disconnected. * Trains don't stop at stations, just go round and round and round. Minor gripe, but still. Other than that, the game needs a lot more building models and rail sections and the scaling isn't consistent. Some things are way too big and others are way too small. For example, there's a placeable asset that's like multiple fields surrounded by hedgerows. It's a big asset, but the fields are tiny and it looks stupid. Then there's things like all but two trains are steam trains and 80% of the building models and decorative items look like early (EARLY!) 20th century stuff at the latest, but then there's modern day swimming pools, like three of them, and a soccer field. It does run well, so there's that at least. Starts and shuts down quickly, but then it would because there's very little to it. I say pass on it, at least until they add routing for multiple trains, and I don't care what the game costs. Poor design is poor design, period.
Basically abandoned. Hasn't received an update since October last year. Many bugs/issues with no apparent dev response. To be fair, it is a two person dev team, so I'm not considering them at fault, but I'm not convinced that it is worth your time and money.
Note: I have also played the demo. Looks nice, a cute game, but fundamental controls are really awkward. No buttons to change the height of what you're placing, very often unable to click the side of something to place something the same height... it's quite overwhelming with choices, not intuitive and slow, and takes way too long before you actually have a decent train track. And sometimes placement acts bizarrely, like I placed a wood bridge in a diagonal grid space from another, and it rotated the other - they aren't connecting so it doesn't make sense. If you have lots of patience, then you'll probably enjoy this, but it's not for me, without lots more QOL.
Its a good game, a bit glitchy but definately relaxing. I played this with my four year old and she loves it. I would love to see cars and planes running or flying by themselves. It would look so amazing. Can the devs PLEASE look into this?
This is not a "game" game. it's a designer studio. Too bad as it has really great foundation to a rule based game. If you are into playing . But it only if you want to spend some time to design everything from scratch, including terrain, tracks and cute trains just to watch them running around.
This game does not have any goal. There is no economy, no quests, no tasks. You just build your layout, and I guess have fun by looking at it. Perhaps it can be appealing to young children, but I see it boring.
Cozy little train game - spent 2 hours solid placing sheep on a hill :)
👉 This sandbox construction game is based on trains and their routes. Nothing prevents you from creating beautiful scenery only. There are several basic themes and many decorative and construction assets to be fully satisfied as it stands. For my part, I would like to have: - a free camera option; - an aerial view, map-like; - a cabin/locomotive view (a bit like Planet Coaster); - the possibility of object collisions; - the ability to freely position tracks under artworks (this is currently impossible and very unfortunate!); - a photo mode; - the ability to control trains and switches to manage transportation. Well! One shouldn't think we're bored, but these options would really be a must. I hope that DLCs will also come in the future. It would be nice to have new themes such as: western, urban, and why not post-apocalyptic.
Islands & Trains.
