I originally played this during Early Access, and while I have not yet gotten back to it since the full release, I enjoyed what I did play enough to recommend it. A very classic style RPG that doesn't seem to take itself TOO seriously, with solid music and characters. I'm not going to oversell it like "This is just like YOUR favorite RPG and you will die if you don't play it," but it's good, certainly worth if you catch it on sale.
A great story in an interesting world with delightful characters. Overall, a fun experience.
vitevotum´s 3 | 3
Story driven RPG with side quests, secrets and more. I like: 1. Pixel Graphic and old school vibes 2. Unlock skills for each character (each in their own way) 3. Hidden rooms and quests where you find/ receive some the best equipment. I do not like or I wish there was: 1.
WHY is Lua leaving me (sob...) I want to be protected by her
2. It would be cool to have some equipment to change how skills are working (as the palette late game). 3. The Puzzle in the Library of the Ancients (screw that)
Dev responded to review. Clearly a lot has changed. Changing review to positive until I have time to play the game again and see the changes for myself. The below is all the things I had a problem with when the game was in EA. Now its full release so it should be different. Will update. The combat gets fairly boring very quickly. An hour and a half in and each character has 2 abilities. The combat has almost no complexity. I like how you can avoid encounters but I shouldn't be bored of them after the first 3 since I really only have 2 choices for attacks. Story is interesting at times. Sometimes they just dump cut scene after cut scene into dialogue and it just feels like a slog. I didn't like how your first partner starts at lvl 30 then magically is injured by people you beat at level 7 which sets her level back to level 5? Like this just doesn't make sense. Side quests are odd at worst and functional at best. Exploring can be fun but sometimes you are rewarded with dying to an overpowered enemy you can't flee from? The game doesn't auto save either so have fun running back to where you were for 10 minutes. Art is nice but then again its a game gameplay should come first. Play the game developers. There is no way you played your game as it is and didn't find these faults. Playtest your game if you find sections you are bored in rework them. This game has a solid foundation but thats really it. I may revisit it in the future but the mechanics of this game are weak. The story is there but not catching you enough to keep you on that alone. Characters feel dry as well. Like one motivation characters. I should be interested in who they are and how they grow as characters but I don't see that happening here.
Cute little RPG with an interesting story and some unique characters. It has its rough edges but a fun experience nonetheless.
I tried to like this game but in the end I might just give up. The story, gameplay, and music are all great but it is lacking so many QoL. Cutscenes cannot be skipped and trying to speed up the dialogue can cause a bug and the game freezes. It's also annoying having to go your inventory to check errands, it should have it's own spot in the menu. Some other things I disliked were the amount of things you could miss. One of the errand late in the game requires you to gather wool by going back to a previous area. However if you walk too far west, the sun sets and it becomes too 'late' for you to return. It's extremely easy to miss things like this. One of your party members levels up her spells by casting them, but then she is gone from your party for possibly the rest of the game part way through. What exactly was the point of having that for her then?

I really enjoyed the game overall. It really had the old-school turn-based RPG feel to it. There are still some bugs, though: - Last Axe to break the wood disappeared from my inventory at some point so when I revisited the area, I could not break the last log, so I have to replay the game and not miss it if I want the achievements. - There was a side quest that I complete, I have the special reward item, but the quest is listed under "Forgotten" So another Achievement I can not complete. - There were also some Spanish text even though the game is set to English.
